Ahhh the old young kid with fancy stuff and old dog with custom/cheap stuff story. Reminds me of the worlds fastest indian. Tyler your comparing watermelons to peanuts, if you have to mod your stuff up that much to beat russ then its not even a race...a true race is of equal equipment. Just think if russ had the stuff your adding to yours, he would leave you in the dust.

True...But I like going fast. And my dad doesnt mind chipping in some $$ for me to learn. Together me and my dad will have around $450 when done building the clone.

For $450 I could get a used V8 and outrun all of you.
...or Ed's Polaris Screamer Motor for just $100!

Here's more fuel for the 2 stroke fire.... I didn't know something like this existed, but it appears Suzuki offered a kit to turn a piston-port motor into a reed-port motor. I figured at the very least I can use the carb, but it looks like it'll fit the Rotax motor I just bought. When I get into my greasy mitts, I'll post the instructions, etc, on a different engine/clutch thread.
