Yep, it's piston port. I've never had this much trouble setting up a carb, but then this isn't a Holley or an AFB. I'll give it a try with the propane...

Still no luck figuring out the idle problem, used the propane and didn't find any leaks. So, I decided to remove the carb and compare it with the original. The non adjustable carb on the left has a hole in the butterfly and the new adjustable one doesn't. Do you think this might be my problem? I was thinking about trading the butterflys...

the hole is the same as adjusting the stop screw.

I drilled a .062 hole the butterfly on the new carb. I bolted the carb on and was finallly able to get the idle down and now the mixture screw is adjusting properly. It revs up alot nicer too!
