big , I just went out and tried it. the exaust port is off set to much. I took off the exaust and rotated it 180 and the port and pipe dont line up good enough. Its not a " O " , its more like a " D "
NO NO, I ment if you cut the pipe right between the exhuast flange and muffler. There is about 4 inches of pipe. If you cut the pipe in half. Then spun the muffler around and re welded to the same pipe. Would your muffler tip then be pointing another derection?
Your never changing how the pipe that is bolted to the engine. You just cutting that pipe and rotating the muffler. Perhaps this will get out from between your legs. You can also cut it closer the the exhuast port/flange. And then angle the whole stock muffler down and out of the way just by changing the angle.
Do you follow me?
I am sure your setup now will work good. I just like thinking of things to do to try to help. Also the kids that will build this will be able to cut and flip the muffler easier than making heat shields. Sometimes simple things like sheet metal will run them off. More so when you used that fancy sheet metal cutter. Maybe cheat and show using your wheel to do a cut. Then do the rest off camera with your sheers. Fancy tools will make this build scary to some. Stick to the basic vintage style your are so good at. Thats what draws me and I am sure other builders.
All that being said I do not even know where the tip will be pointing even if you spun it. LOL I love sitting on the fence playing monday moring quarter back.
