Would an adaptor plate work? Is there enough clearance?

Well I haven't got the wheels yet. Hopefully they come in on Friday. (yes I will post pics of them) BUT I wouldn't see why I couldn't put an adapter plate on a standard hub. Where would I even find a plate to fit a 4/115 bolt pattern? Thank you for your input.:cheers2:

All you need is a round piece of 1/4" or 5/16" steel with the centre cut out, then you drill the holes to suit the stud patterns 45* out from each other

There's a few ways. One way is to countersink the holes & reverse the bolts (fitted from the front). Another way is to thread the holes in the adaptor plate. An extreme method is to weld it on...

You're looking for a 700. I mighta mentioned it....

There are two major types of gearbox on a riding mower. The transmission, and the transaxle. Visually, the difference is thus: A transmission is a stand-alone gearbox, and the rear axle of the tractor is a completely separate part, usually driven by chain. A transaxle is a transmission and rear axle in one. Two half-shafts coming right out of it, the wheels mounted directly.

In all honesty, you could probably use either style for your build. I keep mentioning Peerless because I know more about them than the other brands. They are probably the most common, and if mower racers can get through races with slight mods, you can do it too.

Peerless units typically have the ID tag mounted on the unit on the Right hand side, usually behind the brake caliper. The 800 is a transaxle that uses the same shift keys and gearsets as the 700 transmission.

yea, but if you look at mine, there's not alot of difference, allowing for the frame, it's not going to be too far off, plus, just order the short shaft, if needed, and keep going.

This is the "fake" hub I made up! I will probably buy a standard keyed hub then knock out the studs the fill in the holes with weld then re-drill the right pattern in the hub. SO this is my template! Any comments? :roflol:
