EASY? Clutch. No guesswork.
Template looks good.

What?it's just like the side shaft models, only, it drives a belt. revving is pulling.
My prior suggestions still stand- they will fulfill your needs- easily!
With a Peerless "race-prepped mower tranny", you'll have 5 gears plus reverse. Put it in 5th and go 30mph no problem, as long as you've got decent power and final gearing. Note that you can't shift one of these trannys on the move though, if that's what you're after then you'll want to look into something else (motorcycle tranny or whatnot).
yea, but if you look at mine, there's not alot of difference, allowing for the frame, it's not going to be too far off, plus, just order the short shaft, if needed, and keep going.
toystory.....what model peerless 700 would you recommend? Given whats been said. AND I am looking for hubs with AT LEAST a 4 1/2 bolt pattern so I can re-drill them. Where can I find them?
Kinda pricey, but it IS new.
For that money, you COULD consider getting an already-prepped unit here- http://www.eccarburetors.com/store/index.php?dispatch=products.view&product_id=184
As an alternate option, scout your local classifieds for cheap rear-engine riding mowers.
