Carburetor is acting weird , i will be making a DIY popoff pressure tester to see if its the root if the issue.

Possible exhaust solution in the attachment.

It would look like a vintage racer if you put a period-modified Briggs flathead on it.
I know, I'm addicted to Briggs.

It already is period correct , the engine is dated 1986 as far as i know . The chassis is a 1994 homologation.

+ this is in a whole other league compared to either a briggs or a clone

YIKES!!!!
That's KILLER AWESOME!
But I have read that 2 strokes are prone to expensive failures.
But hey, 20+ HP at ~15K RPM?
I'd take it too!
And yes, that thing'd pass any clone or Briggs like it was standing still.
Only way I could see to make it faster would be to make it a shifter, but I can't think of any conceivable way to convert a standard 2 stroke to a shifter.

It has 8.8:1 gearing at the moment , and with the tires on it , it will do just short of 70 mph topped out .

Failures are not that common unless you really screw something up , usually due to fueling or timing . The engine has been rebuild from bottom up , i gave it a check over and its got plenty of life left .

48.3mm bore x 50mm stroke gives you 91,7cc of displacement , with a static compression ratio of close to 17:1 , it does pack a punch .

A slide style diaphragm carburetor would be ideal for extra top end , but since i dont plan on racing the thing , the current tillotson HL332A5 setup should do .

Soo, if you don't plan to race it?
Is it just gonna be a play kart?
Is it gonna be a "I'm gonna terrorize the neighborhood and outrun the cops" kart?
Is it gonna be a garage king?
Or is it gonna be a special event vehicle?

I planned on attending local hillclimb events , since there is a 4-wheeled category .

If not , the neibghours will have to put up with the noise :cheers2:

Carburetor is still acting up , managed to get the popoff pressure stable , but it still hesitates .

But once it got to around 8000RPM , when the rotary valve starts doing its magic ....

Best description is sitting on a box of TNT with the fuse lit ..

EBC Green stuff so we can stop , and some DOT 5 liquid fresh in the system. Also had to put in a new main seal for the master cylinder , locks the wheels up with ease now .
