I have a parts mower laying around so and I saw a cable... my inner @Master Hack came out and I took it off. With no engine mounted it’s hard to tell but it looks like the perfect length. Disclaimer: if have a kart with a pedal to engine cable you probably won’t be able to do this, too short a cable. But my Streaker has a linkage going halfway. The best part—totally free! The mower was free delivered to my house so free throttle cable. How long will it last? I don’t know, but it looks pretty good.IMG_3214.jpeg

Looks like I need to do more with junk! I was amazed for quite a long time from a thread I found on this forum a while back of a kart out of junk, before I ever got a kart. The reason it amazed me was not only the resourcefulness of the builder, but also because what got me into all this was Cars and Cameras, and they mostly use brand-spankin’-new parts. In terms of the hammer, it’s only a 10lb… looking at one of these:

50lb might be enough…

Good work! As long as the bolt threads back on you are good to go.

One mans junk is another mans treasure. It is crazy what people throw away or give away.

Cutting off the other bearing?

Trying something else first because the brake drum is really in the way of my grinder. And I can’t get the sprocket off to get the drum off.

Are you out of your mind? Who’s got that kind of money?
Edit: Never mind I forgot what group I was talking to.
I don’t have any money! I’m the guy who doesn’t have a stable full of classic muscle cars! :lolgoku:

Update: Looks like I need to get a Dremel cutting disk. Brake drum stops the angle grinder from fitting, it just too thick. Any brand/style you recommend? I don’t know anything about Dremels so bear with me.
