I thought I had a thread on this but I guess not.

The very first ever streaker I ever purchased with the big proud to be an American flag on it has been completely torn down stripped then painted.

It will get all new hardware and bearings anything that can be new will be. Waiting on parts now and I’ll update as it gets put back together.

Then I have to start the pain staking task of doing this all over again to the other one with the blue kohler.

Neat seeing that giant Kohler on there. I know next to nothing about them, can you give us a rundown?

319cc and these things just don’t die….

The engines themselves are massive cast iron 8hp k181s models and they come on wheelhorse tractors. I bolted the wheelhorse engine mount to the streaker engine mount so I could mount the engine up to the stock 5hp plate.

The eBay header and vm22 bolt on with the stock kohler bolts no drilling out any mount patterns or having to weld an intake together.

I couldn’t imagine the power these would make freshened up 30 over.. They make great power even all wore out.

The seat is in bad shape but it’s the only high back tractor seat I have. All parts are ordered painted or just in general ready to go.

No more pictures needed until the 26th when the sprocket shows up in the mail and I can fully assemble and finish this refresh up.

Then to tear down the other streaker and start this process all over again.

Wish I could sew vinyl, because the Ken-Bar seat cushions are simpler than most, even with the white stripe. They are a slip-on cushion design and there's an extra layer of vinyl on the upper part, a sleeve, that slips over the top of the metal seat back. Seems easy peasy but another rabbit hole to go down... and get bogged with.

I have to bolt the fuel pump to the torque converter plate and run new fuel lines.

The torque converter backing plate has to be removed real quick so I can install the new points.

Then I can bolt on the new 30 series and I’m still waiting for bearings and 5/8 axle spacers for the front in the mail.

15 amp voltage regulator installed throttle connected and I put a new set of points on the kohler.

Waiting on wheel bearings and spacers for the front. I have to go buy some chain. Hook up the very simple wiring and lastly bolt the fuel pump to the backing plate and run new fuel line.

Once all that is finished up back to street racing!

Off topic but I made mine for my Streaker the easy way. Take a look on my build thread for it if you're interested. Not perfect but it's nice enough.

To finish this up we ran maybe 15 or so miles today. Hassle free the whole ride. It was 81 degrees and sunny MOST of the day.

On to finishing up new projects.

To be sure, the kart does not have extreme toe-out on the front wheels, right? 😵
I promise the camera angles are playing tricks. The wheels do not toe-out like that. The wheel is slightly turned to the left and these things have EXTREMELY heavy Ackerman steering.

Steering these with locked 1” live axle is easy and takes ZERO effort. You would hop in it and swear it’s just an open diff. It’s because they designed the steering so well.

The way I can explain it is when the wheel is straight the tires are straight. But when the wheel is turned HEAVY Ackerman activates nearly instantly. It just make the wheels look funky
