Update on Kart/buggy

Made some progression on the Kart/buggy. I have taken it 100 apart to the bare bones.
painted in blue and started to put it back together. The Hydraulic brakes will be here
tomorrow to weld a last bracket.. LOL.

In putting back together I scrapped the cheapo gas and brake AZusa pedals I purchased. I
made some large 3 X 7 inch gas and brakes.

Well as I painted the lower body and underside I had to remove everything from the kart.

As I put the wheels, shocks, steering etc I discovered my azusa gas pedals were just too small and cheep looking. So I fabricated some new gas and brake petals that are 3 X 7 with 1/4 steel. Picture below....

I got the hydraulic brake master cylinder bracket welded under the seat. Then the calipers bracket welded over the rear axle. Put the last paint touch ups from the welding. Just attach everything this weekend and we can see if it actual moves down the road.

I like that kart, nice job. One thing I don't know about though is the mesh floor, it seems to me like it will get hung up when crossing rough terrain. A solid floor atleast gives you some protection when you go blasting through the mud. More pictures please!

I thought about the mess floor for a while. My karts sets about 10 inches from the ground. But figured it becomes a issue it will be easy enough to add some cheap tin which can be secured easy enough using the mess as a foundation. I am more worried about the dust more than mud living in a high desert state.

I take some more pictures of the Kart and upload them tonight.

I thought I was loosing my mind today. I had big plans to get everything inplace today on my day off, but that did not happen. First mother nature delivered wet and ice today on our endless amount of snow.

But I could not get the throttle cable to return to a idle state so the engine was reving up
to much to engaging the TC. Tried about everything possible with no luck for about 3.5 hours.
I finally came inside and after some search found I was not the only one with the issue. I looks like I need to install another and more stronger spring. Just got to figure out how to
remove the air filter housing....

Predator 420 : HELP Remove stock air box

So I need to make some changes to the throttle on the predator 420
engine. To access the throttle screw downs I need to Remove stock air box above the carb. I see there to nuts on the outside. Removing the lid there 2 screws. But there one nut under side this which is impossible
to get to.

Is there any videos out there on the 420 removing the stock air box? I have searched and search no luck...

There is a friction nut that holds the throttle lever in place on its pivot point. You can undo that and remove the lever itself to access any hard to reach wire stops.

It was misleading on this nut inside. Turn out there a nut there attached to the throttle arm. But not bolt in it.

I was able to get the air housing off and got a strong spring added for a turn to home (idle).

Got much more done this week. Slower at work for a few days....

I got the engine and double jack shaft with my TC 40 on the swing mount. Front wheels and tie rods back on. Gas and brake are now connected. Just to adjust the hydraulic disk brake and bleed the lines. Then we can test it out with the seats.

You shouldn't have had to do that... I suspect something else is hanging it up.

Kelly, I got the stock air box off and was able to put a nice strong sping on it so it returns
back to home. Throttle working good and it reving up nice like a caged lion...

Just to get this #$#$%^@$@ brakes bleed correctly. Still getting air in the lines. Reading several suggestions now.
