the way im lookin at it, im gonna put shorter tires and some suspension on it. i dont take it off road much (more of an incliment weather kart). and i cant find parts. the one inch is a direct swap from what i have now i can reuse everthing and be riding again sooner.

think im gonna get this

I'd just buy from a steel shop. A bar of 4140 chromoly 1 1/4" 50" long was under $50 AUD, but I suppose if you don't have a lathe and mill it's difficult to put the keyways and threads on the ends. FWIW I think that axle will most likely work, but you never know. That is a hell of a lot of power, but maybe the spinning of the tyres and wheelies will stop you putting too much stress on the axle.

yeah i know but the one incher is overkill for anything under at least 60 horse. regular cars use a one incher and they are putting down more power and moving more weight. they dont break.
actually wait... i got that wrong. 30mm mild steel, except for the stepdown 25mm ends. oops!

But remember in a car say a front wheel drive car it may have a 1" axle but how far away is the hub from the bearing assembly? 1" if that?
