Digital torque wrenches arnt that acutate

Considering snap on and cat digital torque wrenches are north of $500 and acurate to 6%

I find that ad very sceptical

Go a normal manual click type one
Nothing wrong with them

The ony thing digital torque wrenches are good for is if your changing torque lots
Or just want a vibrating beeping wrench for the wank factor

Hardly any trades people usethem for acuracy reasons

I should have staid in bed.....

Monday night; get passed by someone wacked on the highway on my way home (I work 2nds, so it's dark) who loses something out of the back of their truck; no where to go and no choices, run over it with the car. ~17 miles later, as I pull into the driveway, the tranny starts to slip. Crap.

Tues morning; pull the stick, no fluid on it. Get ahold of my Dad, run to town for a case of transmission fluid. Four quarts later the car moves again. No choice or time, throw the rest of the case in the car and head to work.

Drives fine into the back of the parking lot where I hang in the shade until the foundry goes home for the day,leaving plenty of places to park. When I go to move the car, it's starting to slip again. Two quarts gone. Crap.

Top it up, head for home. Wed morn, top it up again, head for work. Need to get this thing up on a hoist....

Then life decided to say "HEY, HOW'S IT GOING!?!?!"....

FMJ and Desert Dueler can back me on what happened next; using an Allen wrench to try and tighten a partially stripped set screw on a tool holder, the wrench cammed out of the SSC hard enough to hyper extend my left thumb.


So, now I have a sever sprain of my left thumb, and a car with unknown damage. Manage to get the car on a hoist just before work on Thursday.... Cracked transmission case, and the under side of the car looks like the Exxon Valdez the morning after.....


Sorry to just vent like this; it's just been one for the book's this week....

I feel your pain,Pat. My radiator decided it needed another path for the trans fluid to go..... So it now flows into my coolant. GRRRRRRRR why the would you make the radiator with the ability to do this? My trans is shot now. No water in it, but it slips as soon as it gets to operating temp. I put a cheap trans cooler on to patch it. I left the hole in the radiator where the trans lines went, just to see if it would leak water..... Nope.
On further inspection, my engine oil is also routed to the dam radiator....... What in the where they thinking? If my oil tank springs a leak, then water would enter the oil pan....... And apparently mine is the only model they did this with..... Go figure....
What in the Sam he££ did you hit to CRACK your case? Is it anywhere you could maybe get someone to TIG it?

The hydrolics oil is shared by the hoist
The park and service brakes
Also brake cooling and pump drive lube

So one 1/4 in copper pipe lets go and u loos 400k in components

Aussie banks closed the doors on them
So they went to america where they secured a high intrest 5yr loan

So we gotta pay off 320 mill in 5 years
For a company that makes 75mil a year before tax and expenses

You know. ....I think my little turtle may be going blind......or else I am sstarting to rub off on him. .....I used to give him teeny teeny pieces of shrimp.....and he could pluck them out of my fingers with surgical precision. .....

Just now.....I had a pretty good sized dried shrimp. .....and the little booger..clamped down on my index finger and tried to eat it! !!!!!......Missed the shrimp by a mile......looking at it from his perspective though. .....shrimp and fingers look a whole lot alike. ....and why not go for the gusto....and get that big one.......?????????

I returned home yesterday after a week away; usually, my computer runs 24/7 but, when I returned, it was shut down. I didn't think much of it until I tried to boot it up & windows wouldn't start

I tried everything but it just didn't want to cooperate...

So, after buying a new hard drive, now I get to spend the weekend cloning drives to, hopefully (fingers crossed), get it running again... otherwise, I get to spend the week doing a software rebuild...

So....about 20 years ago. ...a team of about 1/2 dozen guys in hazmat suits swarmed the area about 200 yards from my house. ....they put up a maximum security fence to keep people OUT..... (still there) and soon it looked like an oil rig/gas site with na bunch of pumps....

Now only the pipes remain.....AND THE FENCE. ....

So.....also....I worked there (General Dynamics) as an aircraft painter. ....so I knew what that water discharge was. .....

White Settlement. .... (well site in picture) has consistently failed water quality standards. ....one of which is radiation. ......

The solution is to dilute it with Ft.Worth water....a percentage of which comes from Lake Worth! !!!!

All I can say is I got Cancer.....a friend of mine just died from it.... (lived in White Settlement).......nobody else in my family has ever had it......White Settlement has a much higher rate per capita than the surrounding areas. .....

There is a fish consumption advisory on Lake Worth. ....

Now. ...we didn't have all this knowledge and advisories 30 years ago......and I ate several hundred pounds of fish out of that lake.....and worked at that plant.....

What would you think if you got Cancer under those circumstances? ?????

Although, just to pick a single point, there's no history of cancer in my family (apart from my great grandmother who died from breast cancer) but, my brother died from Hodgkins Disease (Lymphoma) over 20 years ago...

Poboy, you NEED to move..... There is a very good reason that they tell you not to eat them fish. And why put up that big fence, for a tank? I know of a couple more places that have had (and still have) sneaky/suspicious military "visits"..... One in particular , is near a certain mine warfare center, like south of us..... (cc) ..... Fenced off with super high fence, and patrolled every 20-40 minutes, heavily wooded , thick brush. You can't see 10' past the fence. And the airspace above is restricted, from what the locals said......

Today I went to the dowerin feild days

Which is basically like a state fair I think tbe americans call it
But based solely on agriculture

Its the Biggest event of its kind for as far as anyone cares

So a whole pile of lical and global manufacturers come to show their goods abd latest technology
Along with a selection of sheep breeders abd sheep dog competitions

Even had a pile of itsids family over

The strangest moment being while talking to a merino breeder the premier (head man of the state)
Just rocks up all by himself and starts talking

I just looked at him like the **** are u doing here ( was the last person I thought to see there)

Then he just walkied off to talk to anougther breeder

So that was a strange interaction
I would have thought he would have an entourage with him

Was a good day anyway
Talking to a few dealers about new designs

Well...here's the sad truth. ....my body has already been compromised. ..I can't go back in time. ......

Financially. ...A move doesn't really work.....and really....WHY? ????.I'm and old man limping my way to oblivion.....and . . .......it's hard to explain. ....but my one and only left me......so I really don't share exactly the same level of excietment as you do to wake up tomorrow. .....

What's really bad is.....it's all perfectly logical.....but after almost 30 years .......all the logic in the world. ....doesn't quench the pain of the mother of your child and your faithful wife. ...suddenly leaving. ...

It's a head effer.......oh well. ..I do remember one night I kicked her butt out.....and put all her crap on the curb......in the rain. .....I have to give kudos to her dad for just picking the stuff up and not approaching me.......
