The bike originally started life as a half-faring (HF) Cagllari/Daytona that had been badly abused - the previous owner had been using a street-only bike for an offroad bike, and the fairings were trashed, the bike was filthy .... a real mess. I decided to rebuild the bike "rat" style, out of stuff I had laying around the garage (since new fairings were $49 and I wasn't going to pay it!). Some of the features of this bike are:

-No fairings, period (thus the "NF" tag)
-DuPont spraycan muffler
-Altoids can air cleaner
-Gas tank hard-mounted to frame using custom brackets
-Wire mesh between seat and gas tank, also behind side covers
-Dremel wrench bent 90*, used as killswitch cover
-BMX Mongoose footpegs
-Custom seat made from cut-down office keyboard track, seatpad glued to 26-gauge steel cut to shape
-Duct tape holding front brake cable to fork
-Custom "Street Freeks" logo on pullstart cover

This is just all the fun and goofy stuff I did to the bike, and believe me, it gets plenty of looks and laughs. I've done some mild warm-up work on the engine, too, so The Rat can hold its own for riding.

The purple one is my serious race bike, with a lot of time and dinero into the engine. The Rat was basically done for fun - this one gets up and goes.

It takes a little time and practice, but they're rideable. Mainly, you have to sit on the bike with your knees out (so you can take turns easier), and hold the handlebars from between your knees. The reason for having your knees out is to make a 'triangle' for when you're cornering. Obviously, you're wearing some protection on your knees, as the ground's whipping backwards at about 30mph .....

Hello,
I've been trying more, I found out my uncle has a puller so the bolt is the only problem now hopefully.
I've got a reasonably new 10mm ratchet wrench socket and a new pair of vice grips for the other end, I still can't seem to get it off. I'm assuming it turns the same way as most things (lefty loosy?), because that's what I've been trying. I'm definitely not weak and the person holding the other end is stronger then me, so what other options do I have? I don't have any type of machine that can do it either.

Breaker bar. Third time saying now.

Either that or a long extension bar, get more leverage on it!

Like a crowbar with a socket drive on it :p

Basically a really long socket wrench that won't break if you lean all your weight/ jump on it :p

I don't think we have one, I've got a socket that doesn't just turn on one of the bolts, so I can use that, and on the fly wheel side, I'll try my dads socket with an extender so it reaches down in there, otherwise, I'll try the vice grips again. Gotta wait till my Dad's home because he's the only one able to hold the other end while I spin.

if its that hard to get off, try turning in the opposite direction, the bolt should tighten in the opposite direction that the shaft spins.

I just pulled the springs off, then vice gripped the shoe's to the edge and undone the bolts on each of them. How hard will it be to take apart the new one? I assume it'll be pretty tight new? Will it be hard to get the 3 new shoes and springs back on?

Is there any way I can tell if my clutch has a keyway or not without taking the bolt off? Some of the clutches on eBay do, and the others don't, and I'm not sure what I need. Or even if it will matter seeing as I'm not replacing the middle section. I'd just like to get a clutch as close as possible to this one to be sure that the shoes will go on properly.
