Very true. I also do my length cuts double stacked. Same cut guaranteed on both parts. especially angles. But hats off to you with the round tube. I’m not there yet. Using rectangle tubing for my frame.

I've always admired the tube framed cars...especially the fuel altereds in the early days & the sprints, as well as the full caged road race cars.

Round tubing is one of the things I've never tried but always wanted to do. Now's the time...see if I can pull it off.

Being retired, I no longer have the budget for a full sized car. However, the skills & technological challenge is just as great on a smaller scale build.

Hot to get the first a arm stuck together. But first I needed to cut another plate to have a duplicate to use on shaping the remainder of the parts.

Two of them tacked & #3 being fitted.

By the time I drill, cut & dress the plates along with cutting & fitting the tapers on the tubes, takes about a half day to do one.

Jigs are essential to building multiple pieces.

Since 90% of the plan for this thing is in my head, mock ups help me to solidify my visualizations & determine how to proceed.

I planned the a arms to be ambidextrous so the uppers could be flipped over to mirror the lowers

Later today I plan to be squaring the lower rails. X measuring front to back & tacking some crossmembers in place.

I broke down all the mock ups, lifted the engine & cradle out of the way & X measured & adjusted to assure that the frame is square.
Also used some string & Xed the opposite corners to verify that all corners are level.

Highly satisfying after all this preparation & planning time to actually be welding stuff together.

Measure twice, cut/weld once. You can never do enough prep work before you make that final (and often non-reversible) cut or weld

I may have found the answer for a chain driven limited slip differential. Pics are of a Subaru diff. Seals & bearings are enclosed in the case. Pics show with sprocket mounted etc.

I have a mechanic friend that has driven Subaru for years. Hoping maby he has some stuff laying around that I can use for my project.

Got the rear wheels.
Should have differential, wheel hubs & axle shafts in about a week...start fabbing it all together.
