With that being said, someone once told me about using a spray bottle with water and spraying into the intake when running.
A few good sprays would help to blast off the carbon deposits...

Ok guys here's some old timey stuff for ya. Before they were J. C. Whitney they were Warshawsky and Co. on State Street in Chicago I used to go there all the time. Now I have to drive half way across Illinois to go to J. C. Whitney. Ice cold water into a hot engine to remove carbon from combustion chambers has been around since the dawn of time. If you mix a little Bon-Ami scouring powder with the water and dump it down the carb it will help seat new chrome piston rings.

Yup, and you had to pump the throttle to set the choke and squirt a little extra fuel in the engine from the accelerator pump to get them to start when they were cold. It took me awhile to stop doing that to fuel injected units

Actually One thing not mentioned is it is also advertised as a fuel stabilizer. You know for you guys that don't live in beautiful Southern California. and have to winterize your stuff as you hibernate through a long winter!
