yeah, hopefully I wont have to spend too much on it.
Major bits I need to purchase... a carb, and some controls. Maybe some hardware to mount stuff.

Anywho, cut out and welded a new mounting plate.

Yup. I would have worked for a while but i thought it would be a good way to make it look like I was actually doing something with it. :D

Made up a jack shaft.
The original was 5/8. The driven clutch I will use has a 3/4in bore, so I bored out a piece of 1in round for 5/8, welded the 2 pieces together, then turned the 3/4in and faced the cleaned up the welds. Also drilled and tapped both ends 5/16-24.

Its a little bit longer than it needs to be, but even with a lathe, and welder... its easier to remove material and put it back on. :roflol:

Rip n tear!

Went into the engine today...

Hammere dout the brass bushing from the gov arm hole... tapped it 7/16 14. Hammered out the pin the gov gear goes on, tapped 1/4-20. Looking back, I could have just cut the pin off on the inside.

Going to do the same thing done to the other block posted in this thread.

Dont want to have to buy much, but I am looking at buying a carb. Thinking about one of those cheap carbs from eaby... a 22mm carb is the closest to the port size on these engine.

Like this one.

Is this reasonable?

On further inspection, the cylinder has this lovely galling. :ack2:

Should i say screw it and use it? Or check another engine for a better cyl?

Ok, dremmel work all done... now, I go to put the cover back on as soon as it starts on the alignment dowels it gets in a constant bind. No burs on the crank, no burs in the cover. It was not like this before opening it up.

Any suggestions?

Ok... on what? These are the same part it come from the factory with. Didnt drop it, didnt work it over with a hammer... I dont see what/how this predicament came to be.

But for whatever its worth... slapped the crank and case into the block pictured earlier in this thread with no binding.

I guess, I could use the other block if it came down to it.

Not originally?

So, same crank and case and cover won't go back together?

I'm wondering if you swapped the cranks.
According to the vin numbers you posted they have different crank bearing styles.

Re check you tolerances.

Same crank, case, and block from the original fun power.

{EDIT} Near as I can tell, this is the biggest difference between these blocks. The fun power block is on the left.
