ceramic tiles are definaltly not perfectly flat. But thats how the machine shop smooths surfaces. its just a big belt sander

You sure about that belt sander? Doesnt sound too precise to me. And what are all those rotational make's on the gasket surface from?

If a machine shop wants a flat surface they use a mill or lathe, maybe a surface grinder.

Well i told you it works good on youtube one time. U asked about it in a vid and i told u how to do it. XD Fixed my lil chinese 49cc head, it wasnt flat and oil was spitting out the side. Just got a sheet of glass, very fine grit sand paper, wd-40 on the wet n dry and moved the head in a circular motion on the sand paper. I had to sand mine for about 5 minutes till it was good enough. When i put the head back on i still could see a gap between the head and the barrel n found the barrel top wasnt flat either. **** CHINESE QUALITY!!! I didnt bother sanding down the barrel but oil doesnt spit out of the side now so idk haha.

i dunno i almost think it might be better rough it gives the gasket more to bite too and blow out

Actually brendon, this was a old redneck method on 4cycle I heard last summer. Always thought it was a POS method (when there was a CNC/lathe to be used...), but it's actually a perfect "homebrew" method if you don't have a machine shop near you (or are too lazy to go to one )

thanks i used a diamond cutting bit set they work great and a mini wire brush that goes on a dremel i got the d.c.b.s from harbor freight for 15.00
