Whats your advice for someone with a 250cc kart just using a rear brake?

Ditto, I ran my kart on a road course once with rear brakes only due to a broken front rotor, I WOULD NOT recommend it!!!A 250cc shifter kart? My advice, get front brakes.

Better make some good front brakes a part of the plan....![]()
Kinda depends on your skills, and how much you can fabricate yourself, if I hadn't found that complete kart setup for a good price, I'd have been looking for some salvage or Ebay motorcycle brakes,![]()

If you go back through this thread, or hit my Photobucket folder with all the pics, you can figure out what needs to be done. If you don't have a GOOD MIG welder, and the skills to operate it properly, I wouldn't recommend trying to do it yourself, a brake failure at high speed could get you killed.![]()

I just did, and it looks to me like you could handle the fabrication,
If you haven't checked out the rest of this thread, from beginning to end, you may want to have a look. I've been building hot rods, race cars, karts, hydraulics, 4x4 parts and work, trailers, you name it, I've probably done it, and all of that experience went into the adaptation of my race kart into what it is now, which is a MONSTER,![]()
you could always have a pedal for the clutch....that's what i always wanted, but just room on the kart, but still would look awesome for 3 pedals down there
Hi, I,ve been following your build for a little bit im making a rm125 kart, but i can't figure out where to get a 520 chain sprocket where did you get yours?
