nice how much hp n that suzuki and wat type of engine is that cause i have a suzuki tm 400 and its got 40 hp so how much do u have

Read the thread.

The title of thread says it's a RM250 engine. 2 posts above yours he says it produces 42HP as standard, and with the mods it's probably making 45HP. He also says it was made in 1993.

Ditto, I ran my kart on a road course once with rear brakes only due to a broken front rotor, I WOULD NOT recommend it!!!
Better make some good front brakes a part of the plan.... ;)

where is a good place to get front brakes? i don't want to pay hundreds of dollars either.

Kinda depends on your skills, and how much you can fabricate yourself, if I hadn't found that complete kart setup for a good price, I'd have been looking for some salvage or Ebay motorcycle brakes, ;)

If you go back through this thread, or hit my Photobucket folder with all the pics, you can figure out what needs to be done. If you don't have a GOOD MIG welder, and the skills to operate it properly, I wouldn't recommend trying to do it yourself, a brake failure at high speed could get you killed. ;)

I just did, and it looks to me like you could handle the fabrication,
If you haven't checked out the rest of this thread, from beginning to end, you may want to have a look. I've been building hot rods, race cars, karts, hydraulics, 4x4 parts and work, trailers, you name it, I've probably done it, and all of that experience went into the adaptation of my race kart into what it is now, which is a MONSTER, ;):D

I'm not worried about the fabrication. I just can't find rotors..

I've not had a chance to hold it wide open for any long stretch, but I suspect I might run out of cajones before it runs out of throttle. ;)
I found my brakes by running an ad on another kart forum, http://karting.4cycle.com/index.php? , LOTS of actual kart racers on there, and the "For Sale" forums are a great place to find good used parts,

Clutch

you could always have a pedal for the clutch....that's what i always wanted, but just room on the kart, but still would look awesome for 3 pedals down there

I tried the floor clutch deal . Stopping and steering on a Kart is way too bizzzeeee . Hand clutch by steering wheel is what i went back to . If you spin you can catch the clutch and prevent engine stalls .
