I was going to spend a $100 and get a TAV unit, but figured I would work with what I have.

I did swipe and modify my TC set up from my go kart
I need plenty of torque and power to pull sidecar with another passenger and the 20 series with 7" driven should do the trick.

I did have to ditch fender mount and cut out a notch to allow chain clearance for this set up.
I will try to have finished tonight or tomorrow and then hopefully test run......

A few small speed bumps . I need either a spacer or a #35 JS sprocket that is centered, not teeth on one side After I do a test run and after I disassemble I will cut some slots in mount ( hard azz time getting wrenches in there). Then figure out fender mount.

Well my speed bumps are now obstacles.....
They don't make a 3/4" ID tav type sprocket. I tried bushings but the chain rubs.

and I might have to pull the gov. It keeps kicking in not even letting me open this 7" driven ALL THE WAY.

I went ahead and ordered a hydraulic rear brake system, a rear street tire (size 13 x 6.5 - 6),cut slots in JS mount, sorted out TC problems, and removed governor.
Then I noticed.....I the sprocket will hit the ground with left hand turns

It looks like I will have to ditch the larger stock 72T sprocket for a smaller 60T sprocket. I wonder how much smaller it will be?

I will start regardless tonight to see how TC works out now.

It is drizzling right now but took it for a 2 min test.
This thing is built for power and not speed.
With the smaller rear tire, 72t axle sprocket, 13t JS sprocket, and 7" driven.
Felt like I was only doing 25mph
I went ahead and ordered the 60t I think that will help my top end.

I went ahead and ordered the sprocket adapter and a 53T axle sprocket. It is still a wheelie machine.

The hydraulic brakes are great!

Just waiting on a different front tire and this build is complete.
I must say it went faster with a C.C. but this T.C will pull sidecar wit adult passenger just great I am sure.

Done!

Well the Doodle Devil is complete and ready for fun.....new front wheel came in.

The tail did snap off about an inch before my weld. I guess 1/4" rod vibrating like crazy can't holdup. I will re-weld on later.Also I am going to a bigger main jet from 0.37" to 0.40"to richen it up since it is still popping and lean.


But...it is complete and ready for action. Plenty of power and torque. top speed is only 35 but I can live with it. Now to complete sidecar soon.

I ran into some clearance issues with the trike and the 30 series TC.

So the 30 series TC is on the Doodle Devil with the 53t axle sprocket... Wow it wS doing wheelies in my garage still and calculated top speed is 53mph whoa...

Just a little update:

The bike is still a blast to ride. Quick as heck with TC and 53t axle sprocket. Though when pulling side car up some big WV hills it does put a little strain on the TC and engine.

I have ditched the 6" street tire and I am now going to the 8" pocket bike rear wheel and 60t axle sprocket.
I will also be adding front brakes to the bike because the sidecar is a lot for just one brake.

Also I cut the tail off the sissy bar and rewelded it facing down. It was pretty dangerous pointing straight out the back.

I will update as I go.

Now the tail is only dangerous if you stand up from a squatting position. Or a kid just walking by.
But seriously UP or Down the danger factor is part of what makes it cool!

New Springer Seat

Just doing some mock ups of the new springer seat that arrived today. Hopefully this will help the comfortably of the ride. More than likely I will find a new location of gas tank.
