Yes it is!
I grew up racing atc's, riding dirt bikes, and quads. I never knew how much fun go karts and mini bikes were until last year, when he addiction bit me. This is only the 2nd mini bike I ever rode. The first being my daughter's http://www.diygokarts.com/vb/showthread.php?t=27014

Her's is pretty fast with a 80lb girl on it. I gave her about 100-150' head start and she was flying, then I zoomed past her; wow what a difference.

I clocked hers before at 30 mph. I estimate mine to get an easy 40 with plenty of toque for the hills at my house.

As you can hear in the above vid, there is some exhaust popping.
It was running mean because it is lean.

Maybe I might just keep this carb. I mean it works. ,but once jetting is "A" okay, this thing will be bad!

I was thinking of welding another flange with a 3/4" hole on to end of exhaust, to quiet it up a little and richen it up a little.

Also I doubt that will richen it up enough for a healthy motor, so any suggestions on where to buy micro drill bits and how to drill jets. Since I always bought them.

I disagree with using a drill press, unless the chuck is super tight and with no run out. I do mine by hand using a pen drill, keeping the drill steady and turning the jet by hand. Some call a pen drill, a jewelers drill. You can by them at HF with a few drill bits. The AGK article has some help info, especially the chart.

Well, I think I succeeded in toning it down a little. I am sure I will still have to jet up some. The popping in exhaust has lessened by about half. In pic below you can see my trial exhaust, yes welds aren't that pretty but this is R&D for me. The 3/4" tube sticking out, I have about equal amount inside the muffler.

I must admit I like the sound of the open exhaust better. As heard in above (post 82) video.

You should not have put any tube inside.... It's now holding back more pressure than you think.... I made same mistake.....

I found your next project. When I saw this, I immediately thought of you...... Just gear it SLOW....... I think your son would love it..... I think you would too......

Crap... I only did that because that is the way my gy6. Muffler looked before I gutted it, and it ran fine.

I have been eyeballing that too Jim. Except I was planning on Using a 55 gallon drum.

I did it too, for same reason, but when I redid it, I cut that part off. There was a difference in the sound and to me, ran better.... I could be wrong though.... It's just my experience...
See, instead of going straight to the exit hole, it now has to make its way to the end of that tube inside, before it gets out. That slows down the flow.....

Detachable Side Car

Here is what I am thinking for a Detachable Side Car

Edit : maybe not use heims. Might be too much back and forth play. I only want up and down play to soften ride some.

Should not be any back and forth play using the hiem ends. The bolt can't change planes because each bolt acts as an anchor for the other bolt.

I was testing a helmet cam the kids got me for Christmas and the engine exploded

Looks like the connecting rod failed at 1st glance. I just hope the animal cam is still good. I will tear in to it later and see what is salvageable. I hope it wasn't a result of me running lean. I will keep you guys informed.

Waterproof case is on so you have to turn volume up to hear. Also sorry for the cussing at end if you hear it.

I have a pair of video recording sunglasses and my videos look alot like yours. You do alot more head turning than you think when riding. I got a GoPro last year for Xmas and a chest mount. Much better videos now from the mount, let alone going to a GoPro.
