2 months??? it took me about 4 months to teach myself how to weld (13yrs old) but i was only welding, maybe 4 or 5 welds once a week or less, the spent a few hours getting critiqued by my uncle. mig/flux core is pretty easy (i havent been able to try other types of welding but it was not challanging to learin woh to weld). myadvice is first, get your settings right (set it to what the mfg suggests for the thickness of your metal), bevle the edges of your metal and put them right up againstt each other to avoid blowing through easly. next hold your welding gun with 2 hands!!!!!!!! one hand on the main area with your thumb on the trigger, and put your other hand so that the angled tube going from the handle to the welding tip is resting inbetwween your nthumb and your finger, most importantly rest your hands in a comfy position so you can concentrate more on your techn iuque, not trying to steady your hands with jumpy flux core! finnally keep a slow speed, and make an over-laping circle pattern, about 2 sec per circle is good for me, not so slow that your constantly burning through, but not so fast that yu have a really thin bead, also make sure your puddle reaches well onto poth peices of water. stick out, keep good stick-out, don't get your welding tip all clogged up but keep it close enough so that you can actually keep an arc. practice for a while, and test your welds with a BIG hammer untill they don't break at all. lastly take pics of your welds, and get a few pointers from a pro. this is help full,
