whoops! yes the gov'na needs to be removed versus disabled. if you remember how it hooked up, reconnect it. if not open her up and yank it out. governor hookup is usually done by spring. i never really worked on briggs, but i did reconnect the governor a few times.

ughh, this throttle linkage's drivin me insane. Also, the fuel won't flow from the tank to the carb  think If I fill it really full it'll push the fuel in?

nope, not the way it works. you are running the tank on top of the front fender? it should be high enough to get gravity flow. will the fuel flow from the tank if not connected to the carb? if yes, the float pin could be stuck, if no, either you have trash in the line, or there is trash in the tank. where is the spigot for the tank? on the linkage, all you need is a place for the spring right?

the gas tank is right on top of the engine like where it would be in a real motorcycle, and I think, just as high as before. the fuel line is brand new and the fuel flowed before.

Also, I gotta find away to hook the brake cable to the throttle and a return spring

post a pic of the carb's throttle with the cable's end. as to the spring, on my 3hp there are some holes under the blower case (on the cooling fins) that the spring for mine is anchored to. you used to get flow? drain the gas back into a gas can or something that doesn't matter. blow compressed air through the line. watch your face. if it blows clear, reattach to the tank and blow again. look in the tank to see if any trash is present.

show the carb from the left side of the bike. so far from the video on page 3 you need a casing stop/mount. the spring looks like it could be mounted back to the motor or somewhere on the carb. how easy does the cable move on it's own, and what kind of spring are you trying to run?

im about 1/32" away from the stuped sproket fitting, need a new grinding bit. Also, the drain on the carb is leakin cuz it's like 60 years old. I put some jb weld on it we'll see if it works tomorrow. still gotta hook up throttle, jackshaft, belt and chain. ugh this bikes givin me a headache :mad2:

not deep enough. i use 80-120grit paper to get the jb to hold. most of my applications of jb without roughing the area as mentioned results in the jb peeling away in say 2 weeks if not shorter.

i normally just jb fuel tanks on bikes and atvs. the gas will unsettle the jb. there is no real stress on them either. make sure to let it sit for a full 24 hours.
