Not very far from my house as the crow flies but took an hour to drive there. Ive been able to see a few launches. Pretty cool stuff.

In the DFW area until Monday. Long drive from Nebraska to here. Traffic sucked, an RV caught fire in the express lane, so first responders had to block traffic. Passed Texas Motor Speedway. Between Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas, I'd pick Oklahoma as a potential state to move to. But I like having a proper winter.

That Scrub Cadet is so cool with its horizontal shaft V-twin. Does that engine orientation mean it's heavy duty? I think a lot of the older garden tractors from the 60s and 70s had horizontal shafts but I am really surprised to see that under the hood.....

The hydrostatic transaxle was shaft driven, so that's why the engine is installed that way. The electric PTO clutch for the mower deck is at the front, then uses a mule drive set of pulleys to go from a horizontal to a vertical position for the mower deck.

It's a factory installed Briggs and Stratton 479cc 16hp engine. They do make a lower horsepower engine in the same size, think it's either 13 or 14hp rated, same block and everything, except the carburetor is smaller or more restrictive on that lower hp rated one.
