Someone needs to make a cheap small truck like they used to. Like a ranger or hilux. Little 4 banger with a manual. Rubber mats and crank windows. Nothing fancy. No infotainment console.
And sell for say 10k NEW.
They probably wouldn't be able to keep em in stock.

Makes me wish I had my yota ¼ton still. That 42re probably still runs.

I man I could get a Kei truck. Those can be had and made street legal here. But those are just as expensive as that ranger.

Gained an appreciation for "Bongo" trucks seen in countries outside the USA. Very practical truck with a cab-over and the fold down sides. I guess Mazda owns the Bongo name but don't remember seeing the Mazda badge on the ones I encountered....

The kicker is trying to find the rare left hand drive. I've driven several right hand drive Wranglers due to my job as a Chrysler dealer tech. I get so turned around, surprised I haven't hurt myself driving one.

A neighbor just sold one last year. -BUT he swapped a predator 212 into it. I saw them putt around the yard before it was sold and never heard of it since...

He has some cool videos. Just watched the mini bike camping one. I can't believe I have never heard of these "KEI" trucks, very interesting.

And that specific video is what I call a perfect weekend! I'm a river junkie. I love trout fishing the rivers and streams of Michigan, and that spot was amazing.

The Suzuki Samurai/Suzuki Jimny is one of the better known kei cars. Very mini and cramped but kei cars are perfect city cars for Japan.
I think the Jimny is a darling little vehicle and a perfect narrow trail runner, able to go where the current-era bloated Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 4-door grocery-getter station wagons can no longer go. The first ones were air-cooled 2-cylinder 2-stroke powered.

Image 175.jpeg

Very difficult finding a photo of one that has occupants or people standing near them for a size comparison, much less a 6 foot Caucasian.

[EDIT]: the current era Jimny is no longer in the kei class.

Thing is, the Samuari/Chevy/Geo Tracker were at least imported as brand new. The utility Kei trucks can only come in, however I think that has recently changed, if they're 25 years old.

Does that mean you are certify ably crazy now? I hate proctologists.
Crazy? I was crazy once. They locked me in a room, a rubber room, a rubber room with rats, and rats make me crazy.

Kind of already crazy from working here for nearly 8 years now.

Small storm blew through about 2 hours ago. Just some winds and a bit of rain. Power got taken out. Saw Norris come through a few minutes ago down our street. So hopefully it'll be back up within the next couple of hours.

I've been neglecting a generator for years. Second year we lived in our house, we lost power for about 36 hours due to a hail storm. This past March, we lost power for about 24 hours due to a blizzard that knocked down 800+ power poles in our county alone.

Any of you old farts know what this is?

Wiper motor off a 73 mustang.
Customer said it wouldn't park. Turn off the wipers and they stopped where the switch clicked.
Most ground through the case. This one's rubber mounted. Continuity test had no ground on the black wire. Imagine that.
Power test made the spinny thing spin at both fast and faster.
Little bit of super fine paper and the points now have touchy feelie again.
Little sanding on the common tater and it looks passable.

The brushes could be better but I don't have replacements or a good way to reface em.

20250914_185351.jpg

The gearbox works just fine and the grease is see on this side looks good so I'm not gonna open that side unless I have to.
Now to get it back together. Those brushes like to jump off when the magnet pulls the rotor up when putting the case back on. You know.
Used some tie wire to hold the brushes back while I installed the rotor. Clipped and removed the wires. Easy as pie.

Got the case on and buttoned up and it passes the voltage test.
