Haha in your dreams, my projects are NEVER that easy, there’s always some huge problem I have to fix.
I dont blame ya for scraping it, id do the same.

Only reason I took the generator home was I knew It could be fixed with relative ease, in a night

Having a backup genset is never a bad thing, and can be used as leverage in trades/ resold.

Is it a dual fuel or gas only? Would be nice sometimes to have a dual fuel so that way you could potentially extend the life of the engine (propane and by extension natural gas, are not as harsh on engines).

Gas only. It would be cool to buy a kit , duel fuel gx340/360 conversion, easily available from the usual suspects, and modify to fit.

Not so fast, she is being stubborn. The tapered fit is tight. Very. Tapped the end, 3/8. Cut a 5/16 rod down, ground the end to fit in the crank with room for the 3/8 bolt to push on. Impact, Snapped the bolt. Extracted. Welded a nut on another, tightened, slide hammer, nothing. Going to try a giant puller tomorrow to grab the bottom. Or drill a bolt, tap for zerk, drill through, use sealing washer, and pump with grease gun.

Wonder if the nut was over torque and caused a fracture that got worse over time?
I cant see it. One owner, less than 5 years old, no reason to take apart. Well maintained. Clean.

From the looks, it was never disassembled. The kill wires tightly and neatly bundled in the clip, that was a pain to pop with a long screwdriver, no clearance from the tanks, cant reach by hand. No dings in the shroud, looks like new.

It's on a portable air compressor, maybe dropped while running? Idk.

It's possible when it was being made at the factory that it could've been over torque. It's a stretch though, but one that I wouldn't rule out. I can also see it happening if it were dropped while running or while not in use.

It would make sense, but very rare for honda. Totally possible.

I stopped playing around with the 5000w toys, and got me a real setup.

Buttoned up this 674cc 22hp Kohler command, tore down all the way and cleaned up. Sub $100. Not T bad I think.

Tomorrow gonna pick up a harbor freight 10,000 watt belt drive gen head, and power the whole house with no worries.

I'll know more on the 28th or 29th, but it appears as though my VW dune buggy I got, the engine at least might not be a 1200, but instead a 1300,1500, or 1600. I have to look at the case numbers when I'm back up north. What this means is, a ton more aftermarket support. The 1300, 1500, and 1600 all shared the same case. Just different cylinders, pistons, connecting rods. However, more than likely this is a single relief single port, so mild build only...70-80hp tops. Totally fine by me. Pretty much every 1300 gets changed to a 1600, since 1500 parts are no longer made. The 1300 was only in the states for one year (1966). So I may have scored something better than what I had originally known. 😁👍

Are you trying to lose your driver's license? Because that's a sure fire way of doing that. You'll have to request a replacement title from the DMV. You'll likely need your bill of sale receipt with you and the bike VIN. Then you can proceed from there. But to make it street legal, you'll have to follow your state's laws on that. You'll then need to have it inspected by the county sheriff. It's a lot of work and it'll probably be a minimum of $50 or so for fees.

Well if it does have a clean clear vin i plan on attempting that but if it doesnt work ill end up building a frame from scratch and claiming the engine was free (it basically was)

The town cop hates anything motorized legal or not unless its a car a lawn mower or other "legal thing" im gonna try to get a legit title or home built title because either way i have to cut it up to make it a trike

Had a partial snow day today. Started getting snow probably around 4am today. Left for work around 7 or so. My wife had today off because of the snow, she got the snow day email last night. I get to work, then right around 11 or so we had a meeting saying that due to the snow, we'll be closing early. So I was off at 1pm. Supposed to get between 9 and 14 inches by 3am tomorrow morning.

It set a state record for how much snow in a single day I believe is what I heard. We got 14 1/2" of snow all together.

Chipped/thinly shaved ice is probably a good description of it. The city and county have been slacking on keeping up with the streets and main roads.
