So decided to attempt to buy some kart/buggy plans last night (digital files) with laser files to have certain parts cut. Well seeing as the company is based in Australia, the card company thought it was a fraudulent purchase. So they blocked my purchase, put a temporary hold, and gave me a phone call this morning about it. I could not even understand the person from the fraudulent department at all. Wonder if PayPal would have been better?

Yeah I was trying to buy the plans from The Edge Products, particularly the Trax III. It's similar to the old Fl250, minus front suspension on the Trax, but I plan to add my own. I'll try with PayPal or maybe go to my credit union tomorrow and ask for their advice.

I have that often when I buy things with my credit card that are in other currencies. The bank gives me a call asking if the transaction is legit.

Fortunately they gave me a number to the main office to give them a heads up when purchasing outside of the US. However that means my purchasing has to occur during regular hours ie, my lunch break so I can call a head of time. Such a pain. Though I think wifey is going to be buying the plans for me for our Wedding Anniversary. No idea. But she'll have to call them. So that will have to be on a Monday, (she gets mondays off). I know I'll be building one for her...won't be fun just bombing around on my own.

So we had this 1998 Ford Mustang GT that was sold last week come back in to the shop. Coolant leak was the issue. We told our boss that it needs an intake manifold (one of the most common failure parts on the Ford Modular family from 1991-2010). He disagrees and wants to replace the thermostat and gasket. Are you freaking kidding me? That's putting a bandaid on something that needs to be replaced. The technician even agrees with me (very rare) that it's the manifold. But nope...old man thinks it's the thermostat.

I guess first hand experience means nothing at all.

Part of the issue is, the lead sheet metal roof. That caused part of the problem for them not putting the fire out.

I just saw what happened. So sad when history literally goes down in flames :(

Notre Dame is a very big part of the French culture so I'm sure this is really tough for them!

Well, the EMTs working to put it out were blessed, only two police officers and a firefighter were minorly injured. They were also able to recover the major artifacts.
And also, just recently, a few French billionaires donated something like ~500 MILLION Euros to fund reconstruction!

Completely unrelated note to Notre Dame burning, package came in today from Amazon, (4) 1/2" chromoly heim joints. I'm 95% sure that I'll do a Edge Taipan II and modify it with front suspension. Engine choices are still up in the air. Sounds like the Vanguard and the model 28 Briggs are out of the question now.

I'm happy to say that, I can now move my arm, and am out of the sling. Also, we're expecting 50mph winds here shortly. And there's a slight chance of both severe thunderstorms, and tornadoes.

Gettin mighty close to calling this finished. I need to find some shims or something to go in behind the bras thread adapter so it will bottom out slightly proud of the steel bit.

Now if only I had something cool to put it in...
