Questions on a go cart I have?

So my bother gave me a go cart a few months back. Iv replaced a lot on it but I have a few questions.
What engine is this?
I think it’s a 250. It tops out at 41mph
any mods to make it go faster?
Main question is the engine.
Muffle broke but that’s only thing wrong with it so far.

Not really because the speed limiter on those is usually in the gearbox and it's not a simple bypass. If it does 41mph someone has already adjusted it as far as it can be because they are factory limited to 30mph typically

Main question is the engine.

That should be an easy weld up fix unless it's super rusty.

Not trying to die here haha. It mean it’s fast. Takes no time to spin donuts or tear chucks out of the yard. Never expected this power for a 150. So I assumed it was a 250. Crazy honestly

It could be a 250, but for that chassis I don't think I've seen anything bigger than a 150 from factory.

That's either an Old Hammerhead, or a Chinese Hammerhead knockoff... I say old not just because of the design, but because Polaris bought out Hammerhead a while back and their go to small side by side engine is an air cooled 150.

Which loops back to the fact that the way the radiator fans are mounted certainly isn't factory

The problem with asking "what engine is this" is they all look the same within a range if sizes.

A perfect example is the horizontal Honda and Lifan OHC engines, they are physically the same engine 50cc to 100cc because the only actual difference is the bore diameter, the next group is a longer rod stroke and again the bore diameter changes until there's no more safe limit withing the confines to go bigger.

If you want to know for sure, you need to find an engine number, and engine ID tag, or pull the head off to measure the bore diameter and stroke... it's liquid cooled so if it doesn't leak that's a bad idea.

I found this. Also I found a piece that had a cap on it. I tired pilling the cap but the whole piece came off and started leaking like this?

Change that oil before you run it again. It has water in it! And put that hose back on and don’t play with stuff until you figure out what it is! Jeez, kids these days! And stay out of my yard. A Hybusa engine would be a nice little upgrade.

I just changed the oil. Like 3 times. Fully dumped. Just fyi. There was no water in the oil when I dropped it. Has maybe 3 miles on it after last oil change. Why put the hose back on now? Can’t hurt it if it’s not running. That hose was never connected until I got it. Not a kid either, I’m a paramedic and find that kinda disrespectful. But just my opinion. That why I came here to ask and get knowledge about what I had.

Just wondering where the water is coming from. The hose runs from the top of the head to the air box then to that connector.

FYI:
Around here the term "kid" is often used to describe people under 70 years old.
It has no deragatory or negative meaning.

That's probably just an airbox drain stub. If it didn't dump a whole lot and there's the right amount of oil in the crankcase still consider confirmed.

Basically a drain tube for airbox condensation moisture from the other tube which is the PCV (positive crank pressure vent)

As for that number you got doesn't tell you anything without what manufacturer to cross reference it with and as I said prior it looks like (never means much) a pre Polaris era Hammerhead (90's)

When oil gets water mixed in with it, it changes color. Kinda looks like what's in your picture. If that is a vent and not your crankcase oil then there's nothing to worry about. Put the hose back on and drive and enjoy the kart. It didn't cost you any money, so you got nothing to lose. Be thankful. Most older karts with that style of engine DON'T RUN. This forum is full of people with karts just like yours
( that same style engine ) that don't work. Be glad that you got a runner.

Meanwhile in the southern state of Virginia you can get it over the counter, pretty sure it was passed at the recreational use level so you don't need a medicinal card either though I do know know there is a four mature plant home grow limit.

Mother Goose nursery rhymes ALL 100% have exceedingly dark foundations or in some cases are politically satirical in nature, coming from an era when showing disapproval or disrespect towards your royal ruler was good enough reason for execution. One had to be discreet or clever to express their discontent safely and catchy limericks that today most don't know the origins of did the trick.

I think the book was written in 1910s, the movie was in the 60s. There is a movie about the author and Disney making the movie. I want to check that out.
