Yep, obviously the two ply yak hair belts were omitted. Leaving only unreinforced solidified yak grease. Also the speed rating of 12mph is gross exaggeration.
A blow out on the NAG would be a disaster at that speed.
Untold injuries and probably spilled beer. I can handle the injuries!

So project stoopid is kinda collecting dust while the acqusition dept. struggles with material suppliers. So rather than wasting time completely, our team has been looking at the scrap pile for suitable materials for other areas. The used parts pile has coughed up a treasure if the form of a Subuaru steering rack.

In typical hack fashion it was dissambled and evaluated for future use.

Late 80' Subaru legacy.
part number? seriously?
the japs are no dummies i'd bet they are all the same. ( not the japs, the racks)
it takes a lot of modding, i cut about 16 inches off of it. the hydraulic assist part is gone.
It takes some lathe work, so the conversion is not for everyone. that having been said,
i'll to remember to take more pics.
