Well sad to say I BROKE IT. They yerfdog was hesitating very badly yesterday and we have many ideas of what might be wrong (probably gonna be a long thread) so we where warming it up and it kept dying and refused to stay running. got it to run and go around block it died 3 times. The engine was shaking way more than normal and when taking off shakes almost hard enough to snap the bolts holding it down. When it does that it it starts to die and boggs hard. And we found the spark plug was blackened and cleaned it and it has fresh tank of gas. Also once we cleaned the plug it idled better but it still acted the same and started to drive its self i had my foot off the throttle and while letting it drive itself home it randomly revved up before pulling up. Its a brand new predator it has like 5 hours on it barely broke in on its second oil change

Sounds like the problem could be in the crankcase area or in carburetion.
Maybe lack of lubrication?
You say the plug was blackened. Was it a hard, sooty buildup? Or was it kinda moist and gunky?

I say just return it. You get a 90 day warranty and just use the money to buy a new one. Unless you have already done some modification. :cornut:

It did sound like it was hitting really hard but when we spun it over without the kill switch on it spun fine and would start fine we havent touched the carb yet but it seems like it may be running rich? Also predators have 2 year warranties

This is a direct quotation from my Haynes small engine manual:
CARBON DEPOSITS
Symptoms: Dry sooty deposits indicate a rich mixture or weak ignition. Causes misfiring, hard starting, and hesitation.

Misfiring could be why the engine was shaking so bad, and/or you could just have a bum engine. They are made in China after all.
And yeah, unless you've modified the engine, I'd just return it and get a new one. There is a possibility that the engine is damaged internally.

Just go get another one. I was fortunate enough when I got mine the dude at the counter gave me a huge discount and signed me up for a year protection plan at no charge. Basically can return it for any reason whatsoever and they'll replace it free.

I doubt that that is it. And also, not a big fan of that video. He put an engine with over 4 times the original power in a chinese frame, and expected it to hold up. My baja frame is fine, and the only problem that I have is the sucky engine, and the front fork leaks oil a little. Even though that is probably my fault for jumping several times.

I say take it back. The warranty is there for a reason.

Well, if you wanna be a stickler for bad ideas...
Carsandcameras stuck a Tillotson on a Chinese children's ATV, along the same lines.
Besides, it's not you that did it, and it's for entertainment purposes only.

Yeeah, that's why I'm kinda glad mine's not a two seater, otherwise my little sister would want to go for a ride probably. Besides, one seaters are cooler.
I hope your little brother feels better real soon.
