It's great on hills pretty good all round gearing I would like more top speed but in the back of my mind always is the tires are snow blower tires and can they stay together at speeds like that

See this guy gets it 50 mph on snow blower tiers I like it. thanks for the input

Try 60T on the back and 12T on the jackshaft.
With 18" Tires, 5k RPM would be around 53mph.

I had (gave to my nephews) a mild 420cc / 40 series on a pretty heavy buggy with 18" tires.
It is geared 60T : 11T, which would be 50 mph at 5k RPM.
Haven't ever tested top speed and I don't know how high it will rev. I just replaced the brakes so maybe we'll give it a try soon. If trying to rev 5k or above on a 420, I think you might need to upgrade the valve springs. I seem to remember reading that the big blocks don't like to rev much over 4300-4500 with stock springs.

https://vegascarts.com/products/35lb-hd-valve-springs

35lb HD Valve Springs

"These 35lb HD Valve Springs are OEM on our 460cc Engines and work on all GX340/390 and 420/440/460cc Clone Engines.

THESE SPRINGS ARE HIGHLY-RECOMMENDED WHEN REMOVING YOUR STOCK GOVERNOR! Without them, the engine will not rev much past 4500 and the stock valves will float, eventually causing engine damage.

These springs are sold as a set...Thats right, You get 2 Springs!

And the best part is .... they're made in the USA!"

Gear for 40 mph at 3600 rpm, then put a dynocams 275 cam in it, 4-6 degree advance key, 50 lb hd springs, and it will rev to 6500 rpm and get you where you want to be speed wise.

I’ve been 65 mph on a mini bike similar setup. Some or most will say it’s crazy and unsafe. They are probably right. Still fun to go that fast until you wreck and question your life choices. I’ve currently got an injury that will take 1 yr to fully heal from mini bike racing but I don’t regret racing.

I don't think 65 on a mini bike is so crazy but those mini quads seem a little less predictable

What do you think about tires handling the higher speeds

no comment haha. I'm sitting here wondering if you even have legitimate bearings in the front rims right now, and thinking to myself, is it just me or is that front fork where it attaches to the front axle broken and welded weird?

No that's original it's hammered flat with a piece of flat bar inside then welded
