Anybody know how to make a decent sounding DIY muffler for a predator 212?
Cut the flange off the stock muffler and weld a 1" 90° ENT electrical conduit on it. Cost - $4
I started with a header pipe, but sectioned it and added a pipe fitting that allows me to screw on a 13HP 'sausage' muffler.
The muffler sounds better than stock, but not as loud as the pipe alone.![]()
BTW, I also did the other stage 1 mods, a better flowing air cleaner and jet (not shown in photo)

Oh ya itll help to keep it quiet... It just big thats all...
Bigger question is(pardon the pun...) Do you have space for it and the bracketry to support it properly......
Cant really say, till I see what is it going into...
However to get it done... remember if the motor needs to be moved for tensioning of a chain... the exhaust needs to be allow to move aswell, if supported along its length from the motor attached to the frame( like in a car, with rubber mounts).
Some have made mounts that attach to the valve cover bolt or a bracket attached to the PTO mount... Even from the top brackets with those without a gas tank installed...
The title above says DIY... Usually that means... Were all junk hoarders... Of some sort...
