I didn't see it was a Sachs...thought it was an Axrio rotary...those I know are close to $6500 new but the Sachs yeah $200 or so seems doable.

I'm curious on those, do you need to look after the Apex seals like one would on like the RX8/7 rotary engines?

The apex seals are holding up very well on this engine, I feed it Maxima K2 two cycle oil mixed at 25:1 and I use a foam air filter treated with Bel-Ray Foam Air Filter oil to keep the dust out of the engine otherwise it would not last long running on the lake bed, I have more than one of these engines and other rotaries of different models and displacement.
The Aixro XR50 engine uses the same size of apex and side seals as this Sachs KM24 engine and they even offer them in ceramic.

First spring ride!

Here is a video from our first spring ride. It features my Manco Deuce and my brother in law's scorpion 250. Mudding anyone?

no childish cost-effective designs here but being light matters

my build was set up to be immune to rain or lakes but still spin free .... its a single seater ... brakes are yet to be installed. All of the go-karts videos above are probably worse rides than this one.... this one seater has a dynamic single coil suspension and tops out at 40-45mph friend clocked me going up hill on a road. This go kart has....
-$90 heavy duty ebay 1 inch bore clutch has been re-engineering
-$50Tecumseh 10hp motor off of a snowblower ...purchased
-$80 go-kart complete chassey wheels and everything else off craigslist
-$5 bicycle cable attached to gas pedal.... throttle has a retract spring

Not positive if it is the TC upshifting or the CAM / Carb combo starting to make Power at 3000 RPM.
