I started on this project in March of 22' for my grandson(he just turned 3 a couple of weeks ago) the last picture is the plans that I purchased, a spider cart Arachnid, and the first few pictures are the finished product, I added a few in process pics along the way, it would have been way cheaper to buy something done but this was fun and hopefully safe!

Enjoy!

I started this rolling scap heap in late 2021 and completed it in aprill 2023.
everrything here is scratch built. The olny things bought were the seat, tires, engine, chain etc, lf l could make it, then l made it. Luckily, l have a lathe and a mill, and a pile of steel. I just have fun making stuff. After l retired i started looking for a project, below is the result. There were no set plans, l only had pictures of a simlar buggy. I liked it and thought l would give it a shot.

Pictures aren’t showing up for me . Ahh, a lathe and a mill, sounds like a dream! Masterful hacking! If you don’t mind me asking one question, how did you get ahold of that lathe and mill? Used?

G.W. I haven't kept track of the costs dollar for dollar but I'd say including the cost of the cart somewhere around $1,700-$1,800? There were a few processes I could have saved money on had I known what I know now. Lol.

I feel that. I am sure I have over 1000 buck in mine, not including the wrong parts I've ordered

Hello guys,
Here is my lawnmower kart:
20220115_162337 (3).jpg

I've started building it with my dad a few years ago and quickly understood how i can finish it up myself. It has a Honda gcv 135 lawnmower engine (stock light flywheel). I've build an adapter for the motor, to fit a Honda dax carb (125cc honda motorcycle carb):

It runs REALLY damn well with that kind of a carburator, incredible. The Transmission is a Peerless 700 lawnmower gearbox. I did not modify it in any way, has been holding up pretty good, no big problems with it. The clutch is a modified belt clutch. It worked for some time but needet to be rebuilt often by me, kept stretching and blowing up belts.... (maybe its because of the belt size....) I have not found a solution for the clutch problem yet, sadly, Its sitting since winter because of this stupid clutch......

Another one of my projects is my moped, Its a Simson s51 (with a s50 engine. 50cc 2 stroke with a 3 speed transmission) The simson S51 got made in the GDR (DDR) [German democratic republic) by the company simson, they made the mopeds in Suhl (Suhl is a City in east germany). The Simson mopeds are pretty commcon to see here in germany. They are pretty popular too, because you are legally allowed to go 60 km/h with them when you are 15 years old, other mopeds are only allowed to go 45 km/h. Here is a picture of it: WhatsApp Image 2023-07-12 at 20.01.01 (1).jpeg

My pocketbike is also a fun Project i've built. I have bought it 3 years ago brand new from china, because i thought it would be fun to own one. It actually is/was fun to own one, till the stock motor blew up on me, after that i bought another motor from china (it also blew in a short period of time) and after that i bought the 3rd motor and guess what? it also blew up on me :ROFLMAO:... After that i took the motor out of it, removed the plastics and cut the old motor mount off of it, because i wanted to fit a weedwacker engine in the frame. The swap was really easy and required no welding. I only needet to make a new engine mounting plate and 2 "braces" to support the motor from the top of the frame. The Little pocketbike centrifuigal clutch housing that acts a gear reduction "thingy" easily bolted onto the motor, only needet to cut some of the motor's plastic cover off. As a fuel tank i used the stock one that came with the bike. With this kind of a motor swap, i indeed lost a bit of ground cleance, but this does not matter, i can still send it around the fields without the engine plate hitting the ground. The weedwacker motor has been running reliable for 3 months now, I've already driven soooooo many KM with it and its still going strong this engine is already lasting longer than all 2 of the chinese ones i bought in the past lmao. Right now im making a custom carburator adapter to fit a Walbro Chainsaw carburator onto the engine, after that imma get a good exhaust for it that has a expansion chamber, then it should have a lot more power. Im not gonna port the cylinder for now, dont want to destroy it, I have no experience with porting.

Here, the only project of mine that's "finished"

It's a motorized bicycle that I've hand built. I of course am always upgrading it.
