It has plenty of power, not a duramax or that brand new 6.7 powerstroke diesel, it has 500 some odd pound feet, the 4.88 gears in the rear end are what help it pull so much truck is lucky to go 85 miles an hour top speed, we hauled scrap there, ut we haul tractors, and lumber and everything under the sun, We have a toyota t100 rated to tow 5500lbs. we had a 8000 lb reese hitch on it, well we bent it and cracked it we pulled so much weight, pulled well over 10,000 lbs with that litte toyota but you gotta do what you have to do, this ford was one heck of a good deal, and only has 90,000 miles on it. the f550 diesel is tuned down some compared to the f350 diesel, but it has the same rearend in it as the 650-850's have so it gets alot of tug power from that. and only gets 12 miles a gallon. where the 350's with that same engine that are tuned up a bit get upwards of 20 some even better depending on which gears you have. very dependable engines the 7.3's are and all castiron. the powerstroke was a turd with there 6.0l and there 6.4 wasnt much better.. there new 6.7 though is a raw beast. its 390hp and 735lbft. then duramax tuned up there 6.6 to a 397hp, and 765lbft. so now ford is tuning theres to 400hp, 800lbft. that much power is good and all but not completely nessary, and diesels are amazing due to the massive amounts of power you can pull with up grades. a good diesel is supposed to run stock at about 30 percent its potential.. woah i typed alot
