ok so i just finished my go kart. mounted up my gx390, clutch, chain drove it down the street. turn around the clutch is smoking(brand new friggin clutch) i know how not to ruin a clutch also it was full throttle the whole street, it was engaged. anyway, when i wired up throttle i removed all throttle parts including this lever on drive side which had this plug thing that i pulled out now when the engine is running air and oil are putting out of it. WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON PLEASE HELP ME!

one more thing how does a clutch rated up to 13hp burn out after a 30 second ride down the street, seems fishy to me especially since anderkart said would last years if rode properly

that stinks! if it were me i would ask for a refund, try to document what happened if they respond to request for a refund by saying "you must not have installed/operated your clutch properly" and all that fun stuff

You'd never get a refund from anyone but a big box store, any kart specific store would understand why it happened. The big problem with many 1" clutches (noram, hillard) is that they run the whole way down the shaft, meaning you are forced to have more teeth on the clutch changing your ratio, so if you have tires taller than 15" or a drive sprocket too small you will have a hard time not smoking that clutch if you are not running a jack-shaft.

if your gear rateo is to high you could kill your engine with the added load plus coasting will be horrible

it may not kill it but itl prob do some damage coasting at heigh speeds will be especialy bad that is if you can coast at all. plus if you want to stop youl have to kill the engine.
