I have an idea that i was gonna try, using my gx200, a modified carb, and oxygen cylinders. I dont think the cylinders are pure oxygen, so it wouldn't be as dangerous, right? any thoughs are welcome.

Good luck with that project. Why not be safe and just get those eBay nitrous kits?

you probebly should use NOS because NOS kits have oxygen and nitrus the oxygen is for more fuel getting burnt and the nitrogen is to cool it down. if you use only oxygen it will over heat

Pure oxygen into the intake??!! YOUR ABSOULUTLY CRAZZY!!! That can make a HUGE intake back fire and litterly RIP your plastic intake and carb right off the block.

This one time i was at the drag track and heard BOOM from the start line, from what I was told a defective NOS tank EXPLODED. Dangerous stuff.

thats giving me an idea.

i have a 3hp briggs w/ most likely a bad carb. and i also have access to an oxy acce torch setup. what about sending that mixture in through the carb as if it was converted to propane. or would that send me to the ER right away?

Briggs & Stratton engines last rediculously long times. I read a story in which a Briggs 2 horse was ran all its life (30-40 years) on WOT for whatever application. A few decades later, took off the head, 90% of the factory crosshatch marks were still there.

Odd, must have been some good cast iron.

They were all aluminum blocks. 3.5HP's and up had I/C versions.

Heck, I have a 60's Briggs 2HP. More compression than any of my Briggs 3HP's with new rings, new head gasket, ect...

Heh... Nice one :smartass: <- ;)

No, Industrial/Commercial. They feature cast iron sleeves. Heavier duty. Very common in the flathead kart industry. Unlike the Kool Bores.

Have you cranked them all backwards with a comp tester? The decompression system only works spinning the right way.

Don't have a comp tester. You can just tell. I've had a few kids tell me the 2HP was harder to start. Accompanied by many flips because they didn't hold it down hard enough.
