great news! there's a guy close by who is giving away/selling at a low cost all of his welders and he said he'd teach me to weld!

you've welded for a long time! I think that the guy is getting rid of the mig, flux core, and arc welders that he has. i'll try and get the mig welder

finally got some one to respond to me about a welder from craigslist! it's a 130amp welder mig or flux core welder. I'm going to go look at it this week.

I also got a pair of cheap front suspension off my dad's old mountain bike that I can use.

I think that I won't try and use a 7 speed internal hub in the rear weel to connect the engine to because I can't find any used and new they're $140. it'd be another $100 at least to have the bike shop put it in a rim and use oversized spokes. i'm just going to get a clamp on sprocket adapter machined. how many teath should it have? I weigh 135 lbs and I have a bunch of hills but I can also still use the pedals so the engine doesn't have to do as much.

It's actually an Italian company. It's all set up for MIG welding and I got the regulator! I still need all the protective stuff and some wire though(they come in different thickness right? Just wondering because I got 3 extra nozzles that are the same size and have a tiny hole). Any recommendations on an inexpensive mask?

You have 3 extra nozzles, or 3 extra contact tips? Big difference. If it's a pinhole, you've got contact tips. If the hole is about 1/2", they're nozzles. Yes, the wire is available in a few different sizes. I have (and use) 0.025" MIG wire, and 0.030" and 0.035" FCAW wire.

Does ot come with a cylinder of shielding gas? You will need that for GMAW (MIG).

Nope, no cylinder, he wouldn't sell it because he had another welder. What size wire do I need for bike frames?

0.030" Flux core will work. Some machines seem to do better with straight CO2 than others, but your paintball bottle has some problems. It's small (won't last long) and you would need to adapt it to a CGA320 (IIRC) fitting.

Darn, I thought it would work because on Amazon I saw that Hobart had a Co2 canister that was the size of a large paintball canister (and looked exactly like one) that came with an unadjustable regulator. It said that it could be used for 40 minutes at 20 cubic feet an hour.

The reason why I wanted to use a paintball canister is because I don't know where I could get any other bottle filled. There probably would be some place in Springfield but that's more than an hour away from me which would mean I need a big bottle. That would be expensive and I really want to actually get something done on my bike instead of just talk about it.

I think next weekend i'll be able to get a bunch more parts for the bike or welder.
