So, the first run was a partial success; the second run was OK?
Well, yes but, the vid is, technically, of the
second run. The first run saw no blade action &, by the time I went down & back, the drive belt came off. After refitting the belts & retightening the P/A bolt, the second run was better.
After I shortened the plug (not that I
didn't take your advice, my math must've been off) the third run was almost perfect...
I know what you mean, it's lucky I have a fair understanding of engineering & machining so, at least we were on the same page
Although the mower now "works", there are still a few things to do
before I get to refurbish it;
-the gearshift linkage is a bit sloppy which makes selecting forward gear a little difficult
-I still need to properly secure the engine cover; ATM, it's just makeshift...
-The engine cover is a bit unstable, I'll be looking into that ASAP
Apart from that, everything else can wait until winter rolls around...
