Des. explains how he uses the spacers to lock the axle in place and why he does not use lock collars.
He is a sharp Guy and that was (is) a Perfect Kart. He takes good pics and explains things well too.

It's cool, I'm a big boy. I've seen the bearing like I took off the kart on some of the web sites a lot thinner flange/collar but wanted them now and this is all the local store had. Didn't think about any clearance issues.

A round disk cut out of the middle of the wife's best plastic cutting board would make for nice spacers on that AXEL. (The white one) not that clear one.
