Did a bit more grinding. I'll have the bottom rails on by tommorow.

Little Late but the bottom rails are tacked on now.

Got the bottom rails mostly welded, go to weld the bends up still.
But I sat the engine in there for fun, Hopefully I will have the engine plate in there by tonight.

And I have to get a shorty oil filter for the engine to fit where it needs to go.

I was going to replace the top half of the frame, but decided to keep it for more strength, my design to replace it was a single rail going to the top instead of two, but two will be stiffer, so Im sticking with that.

Well, didnt get the engine plate on like I thought, I was getting ready to get started on that and got distracted thinking about the shock situation.

So got the cliutch today, Anyone know how I would go about measuring it?

just use a tape measure, get an aprox. measurement then round it to the nearest size that is standard. or go to a shop that sells the belts and bring the clutch and size them up. Is it symmetrical or asymmetrical?

Its symmetrical. Where do you measure at though.

the inside area, where the belt lies at idle, the belt should not touch the movable edge of the clutch at idle.

Got a tank. How cool is it that the only gas tank on craigslist was for my frame, and is also in great shape and for only 10 bucks?

The Briggs engine doesnt look too bad on there really...

And Im working at a metal fab shop now, so when its time to get a fender, I might try see if I can fab one up with the english wheel.

I'm not sure exactly, But the bike had been parted out for the most part, So everything was missing, and the block was messed up pretty bad anyway, All cracked up in places. So it was pretty much junk, Scrap metal for me!

Anyone kmow where I could get a big square chunk of rubber to put under the engine? I want to lift it up about an inch or less, it will let me move the motor forward a bit.

Use steel, a solid mounted motor will spin faster than one that is allowed to vibrate a lot.

Its going to have lights for sure. possibly a plate. lol

My dad had the idea of the engine sitting sideways, with the shaft towards the back, then figuring out how to mate to the driveshaft. We almost had our idea worked out until we realized that the bike driveshaft and engine turn different ways that way.

it would have looked badass though. The exhaust would have ran straight out the sides, sparkplug on each side, nice and symmetrical
