A couple points here, no particular order-

*5/8" is fine for your front spindles. 5/8" MIGHT be strong enough for the rear spindles on a dead axle (1wd) kart.
*For a live axle kart, you want a 1" axle. 5/8" simply isn't strong enough.
*Those Harbor Fright wheels are trash. Okay for a furniture dolly, NFG on a kart. In addition, those wheels would be good only for the front on a live axle kart. They have bearing in them.

Ok thanks for the reply! I am having a very very hard time finding some tires and rim combo for the live axle. I simply can not find them any where. All I find are 5/8. When I do find them (1 inch) they are like 50 bucks a tire. Is there a place I should be looking for tires? Any links to a pair of tires under 50 dollars that would work on a live axle would be great! Thanks!

Who- Me? Wherever I can. Most of my projects end up using turf tires, from lawn tractor or garden cart origin. I also get stuff from Princess Auto, or Kijiji or Craigslist. Same thing for rims, really.

I am really not finding anything worth paying. Is there a way I can just use the ones with a 5/8 axle bore and replace them with a 1 inch hub?

Try eBay for tires And wheels. I got 4 tires for 89 and two wheels for 25 dollars. Especially if you are looking for slicks. Racers use them once or twice and are done with them.

It might be easier to bring the tubes to shop that has a bender...if you have all of the bends drawn out, it has to be reasonable to get a machinist to do it; with a tube bender, it takes no time at all.

Thanks for the help! I found these tires on ebay. If i bought 4 of them would it be possible to replace the 5/8 inch hubs with 1 inch ones. just two of them for the live axle. Do they look strong enough for a go kart?

Again- dolly wheels. I wouldn't expect too much out of them. I have absolutely no idea if you'll find hubs to fit. The EvilBay ad does not indicate the bolt pattern or PCD. It's all guesswork from here.

Find an electrical contractor who has a bender for electrical conduit. With some muscle pwer it can be done with a hand bender that has a long handle.
