I ended up getting a small filter from advanced auto parts. I had to use a small adapter between the valve cover hose and the filter itself. I believe I will mount the filter up above the motor instead of below or just hanging.

Found a guy here in va that owns and operates EZ bore. Which deals with Racing go karts. I decided that I am going to head over to his shop on saturday and see what he has in way of upgrades for my engine. Hopefully I come back with some sweet new parts to show off.

I've always liked VHT brand header paint best, but any brand paint sold for high heat use would be fine.

Cool thing about the Outerwear is its got a slick outer surface so most all the dirt it catches just falls back off while your riding around. A foam type pre-filter probably works just as good but all that dirt just sticks until washed or brushed off.

thanks man. its good to know i can always count on you for good advice. There is a local track that I am going to go test this kart out on. Keep in mind this is just a 1wd kart with a slightly modified clone. It will not be super fast or corner like a Ferrari. In fact it will probably behave like a model T.

Cant wait to get it on a track

this track is at ft eustis in virginia not to far from my base. its 20 dollars on weekends to test for 2 hours. I am going to try my best to stay out of the way of the guys who are testing to perform. But I didnt build this thing to look at.

Before I go to the track I need to wire up my remote kill switch. can anyone provide a link to somewhere on the forum that mentions this?

not too hard, just tap into the wire that goes to the switch, wich is the positive, and the kill seperates it from ground, (negative) that is grounded to the kart frame.

I got to looking at it last night and got it figured out. Time to bust out the soldering iron.

I'd just hook it up to send a ground to the wire running to your low oil sensor, and leave the engines original kill switch all connected as-is. You'd end up with dual kill switches and the low oil sensor just left unplugged.
