need help with a new minibike

But back to your chain, one those type of bike it usually is, yes.. a 'different' size and can be hard to fine.
On the side of it, it should have two numbers stamped onto it, this is the size.. or pitch.
i imagine that your chain would be a #25 or similar
The 'standard' and readibly avalibale, chain for gokart and mini bikes is usually #35 or bigger so finding one to fit your bike may be a challenge...

So I can't get the engine running and my scooter broke so I thought about cutting the crap and getting a 2.5hp clone and using a #35 clutch or that belt drive with the clutch pulley.
Do you guys think this would be enough power, I weigh about 225 lbs. I really just need something that MOVES and doesn't just waste away in the garage.

Maybe I could fit a 3 or 4hp?

Tyke, the bike you picked up is a Cateye 49cc. The chain is a #25 chain, sold on www.davesmotors.com or www.scooterparts4less.com. Good thing about this bike is that it's a perfect candidate for a Honda engine swap. Several of the guys on pocketbikeplanet.com have dumped the Honda engines into this frame with little modification (both 3.5hp and 5.5hp). You will need to do some custom brackets for the engine, and purchase a centrifugal clutch and chain set for the bike, but it will work.

I'd also suggest the addition of some wheelie bars. You'll be putting out a LOT of power to the rear wheel, and it'll be all you can do to hang on, let alone keeping the front end down.

Stuff a KTM 85 engine in there, liquid cooled, 6 speed, it would fit easy, smoke the tire, and do 90+

Its a high revving, liquid cooled, 2 stroke.

I grabbed the motor from my trashed scooter and threw it on the bike it runs great and sounds crazy. All I need to do now is to lengthen the chain and make those things that keep the front wheel centered and the rear sprocket lined up. The mini chopper guide used 5/8 pipe cut to fit in the spaces but can I use pvc? I have no way of cutting metal

I've got an extra one of these motors lying around and if I can get it running I'll put on a bicycle but my question is with the huge tire a bike has how will i gear it down enough and also, how do I mount a sprocket to bike tire? Should I just get a different tire?

I've got one of those cheapie chinese pocket bikes. Mine's a dirt bike, but it's got that same 49cc two stoke with the torque converter. It looks like it's got a #35 chain. Is that the size that you bought and then had to take back to the store? My question is, have you tried a #35?

Yea the first chain I tried is a #35, didn't fit. I know the chain is BF05T also called 8mm. I ordered one but they ran out of stock .

I'm waiting for them to get more. Also there is no spacers to hold the wheel in the middle of the axle. Are these necessary? And one bearing keeps popping out of the wheel .
