yes, flipping the blue and yellow phases plus the green and yellow halls gave me perfect reverse. Of freaking course, not 9 hours after I get the hardware reverse wired up the eBay seller finally gets back to me.

oh well

The supplier sent me the English translation a while back it should have been posted in previous posts. On the speed control it says this:
2 speed
1:Orange 2:Black NGD 3:Blue (don’t use it)

I think the "don't use it" part kept me away from messing around with it.

TIGL, Is there a second brown wire or do i rewire the throttle to get reverse? I am confused.

I have no idea. I looked briefly at our controller and didn't see the right wires so I'm sticking with my hardware reverse for now. I'm using a beefy 3PDT switch to flip the phases and send a signal to a DPDT relay that switches the halls

I finally have reverse which is my forward in this case, I am disgusted by the process of no wiring diagram or info at all, but you boys keep saving the day, thanks to FA and Sid as well, they are doing great work, thanks all.

I agree the yellow and blue phases and the yellow and green halls are switched and the opposite direction of rotation is the result!! High gear appears to work or the two speed so that is sweetness but also the low speed is going to save lives so it's cool feature. This is working well on the bench now to get some wind in my hair, switching out the sprockets now but had to come thank you guys first! cheers!

The first flight has taken place! Wow! Pretty cool motor, I love the brushless compared to my brushed motors as it is very quiet and it hits hard in high gear so I can wheelie at will but I agree it's not really what the specs say but it's got some top end legs now and it's way too fast to let anyone else use top gear. Installed in a Monster Moto MM1000 Electric mini bike chassis and upgraded to lithium battery for this 48volt motor, I guess it's a MM1800Li now eh. thanks again!

Can you explain how the speed settings work? Nothing jumped is medium, one side jumped to ground is low speed, the other side jumped to ground is high speed?

I tried messing with the different speeds and blue and black was mid speed and yellow and black was slow. Open was the fastest, which I already had, so no speed change for me. That motor is powerful no doubt

Finally got our mini quad back together.

Converted from:

- 36v to 48v
- 500w brushed to 1800w brushless
- geared transmission to jackshaft

Pulls up the hills much better now!

Did you guys ever figure this out?

Open with nothing jumped seems to be the fastest for me too.

When I do blue to black or any other combination it slows it down.

I still can't help but feel its not high speed on default. Just seems to quite and visually disappointing while bench testing.

The Ebay listing I ordered it from says this
"Speed Cables: Orange (High Speed) + Black (GND) + Blue (Low Speed)"

But that doesn't make sense to me because the 3 speed connector is blue black and yellow. There is No orange on the 3 speed part of the harness.

Hiya- I’m a new user here and am building a bike using two of these motors and controllers. And I have a couple of questions that I am getting nothing from web searches.

The first- and most important. Will two motors, each with their own controller, be enough to move something in the neighborhood of 700 lbs?

And it kind of looks like I can wire steps in the speed the motors will go? I am building it for an event and will want to ride it across town a little faster than a crawl but when we get to the event, I will need to move a little slower than a walking pace. Do the motors work ok at part throttle? Or should I gear it to run wide open at the speed I want?

Also, can I use the signal for one throttle to run both controllers? If that won’t work, I am planning on disassembling one so that I can stack them on the same shaft, but would rather not do that as I have it in my head that one throttle for both motors will balance them some.

Yes there should be a 3 wire plug usually marked "speed" or something similar. It looks very similar to the throttle plug.
You can hook it up to a 3 position switch to obtain low speed Medium speed and high speed . Ans switch it on rhe fly.

The only tricky part is figuring out which wire combinations cause wich speed. Also because it seems some controllers come set as high speed as the defualt while others come set as Medium as the default.

Thanks. Exactly my experience too. Good thing I recieved a $15 refund because the motor case was scratched up and it came with a 9 tooth sprocket instead if the 11 as advertised.

So i was only $16 out of pocket for the whole kit. Even though im disappointed with the speed its well worth the price.
