My hoop has had acouple inches of pipe added to the middle of it, not even eithor, so it's kinda high up compaired to yard kart standards and is also alittle crooked

I think I like the flow, front end is welded, going to grind and touch up the rough welds, steering pitch looks comfortable to me and seems like it will operate properly once it's all welded up, I really didn't like the steering column being a full 12" forward of factory location. I swear I have found more cut corners on this kart than I thought I would.

Well, when I got it home the honda 13hp that was on it was siezed, the picture I posted earlier of the broken exhaust acted as a funnel for the rain to fill the top of the cylinder, before I found the forum I had already removed the head and got it to free up, honed the section after scrubbing with oil and rags, checked for spark and put it back together. It turns over with the rope, but is probably going to be set aside for later, and I'm scavenging a honda 9hp from my shaller kart, the jackshaft and clutch stuff from the 13hp will all bolt over when I'm ready. Till I get the dingo painted and rolling I'll keep the shaller to drive as it sits, for now...

Had a good weekend out camping and fishing, now it's back to the dingo! I should have all the welding other than a new floor pan by tonight. It will need a complete paint job because there isn't much left as it sits now, my wife says a bright metallic blue, what are your votes for color? I was thinking about making it match my big(ger) off road toy and doing a camoflauge job on it, but I'm open to suggestions! :cheers2:

We can agree there for sure! I tend to want to do what everyone else isn't doing. If I could afford it I'd go get something like plumb crazy purple and have it sprayed with ppg auto paint, but even my friend that paints would have to charge me probably $650 minimum for time and materials, can't justify my gokart looking better than my motorcycle!

Almost got all the welding done, up until my grinder caught a corner in the frame, jumped free of my hands, and busted me in the face while still running, I decided it was time to call it a night after that. Maybe I'll get back to it tonight, but my face still hurts.

****. Glad you are ok. My grinder did the same 3 days ago. Jumped hard when it caught and destroyed the flap disc. Luckily it didn’t hit me. Be safe!!

As he said. Good thing you're ok, got a dremel flat disk that discinigrated and hit me in the face. Fun times.

Not my first run-in with a grinder, I've got a 7" scar across my thigh from the same grinder roughly 6 years ago, dewalt grinders last forever!! I'll be ok and thank you guys for looking out, it was enough to hurt and make me feel pretty dumb, but the welds look really nice by my standards!

And this is what happens when you show your tools you just won't take it anymore! Bonus points if anyone knows what my floor pan came from!

No springers yet, running out of the little bit of money I have. Going to need one more can of paint when I finish fixing the roll cage. It was a late 40's Studebaker stepside, two wheel drive, gives it character, plus the tailgate was the only piece of steel I had big enough. Better than the old one by a long shot. Once I can order the correct brake caliper I'll start robbing the shaller kart to finish this one up, at least make it driveable while I rebuild the 13hp engine.

Mine had springers already, got new springs because the ones on it were shot. As well as spindles because the old ones had seen better days. Will probably use them on something else.

Could you get a pic of the clutch on the 13? Looks like a 30.

It is looking awesome. Paint looks nice. Pretty much the same color as my yerfdog.

Dingocat, what spindles did you buy? The 2457?

Thank you! The blue is called oasis blue matte, I got something for the wheels and a few small pieces, but I'm waiting till it's rolling to show that. Hoping a deal I've been working on happens today, two more manco's!
