thanks. I'll find the tires. But i guess the question is can i switch the front 4inch tires to be the same 6inch tires on all 4?

The HF tires will not last until x-mas. You'll be lucky if they last until labor day... as in like half a week...
About the tires from eBay: I don't have a clue, so wait for the other's to come around... but I would buy from a big name, not a no-name. A brand like Carlisle or something.

SAY WHAT? ?,,,,,, JK....YES.....You can find tires all day long with the same OD and 2" diff in ID........BUT. ...... WHY?????????? Would you want to equalize your tires when you have different sized rims? ??????
Usually. ...the only REAL...advantage is being able to rotate the tires. ....JMHO........But I think it's a waste of time and money. .....

Yes that would work. Next time you buy tires, get the same size in a CST brand 4 ply......

I was referring to the fact that you can't thread the rod through two nuts if there are bends at the ends of the rod...
It's not just the tyres that are the problem, the wheels in general are lighweight junk; low speed bearings & light gauge material used for the rims...
You can but, you need to keep an eye in the height of the front vs the rear of the kart; you don't want the front to sit higher...
Thanks for the update. The rod for the breaks is a straight rod that doesn't bend in. I've seen those. This is just a straight bar that has a bolt connected to the break petal and then another straight end that connects to the band break.
As far as the tire. I don't mind staying with the 4 inch tires on the front. Just thought it might be easier to get tires.
I need to go find a store locally because the price of shipping kills any good price i find.
Also an update of my progress. I got the throttle cable hooked up last night. I'm not sure i like how it is setup but it seems to work. Its almost a bit too long but its working. I also got the clutch to put on it. This is going to be the part that i have to work on. I need to get some washers tonight for behind the clutch as there is a lot of slop. I want to say its about a 1/4 of inch of space or slightly higher. I think the washers will work well to fix that.
next comes the chain. I know i can adjust someone to make the chain tighter but the new Engine and clutch might be hanging a bit lower than the old one. So i don't know if you can take links out of the chain or order a smaller one. We shall see.
As far as the tire. I don't mind staying with the 4 inch tires on the front. Just thought it might be easier to get tires.

Post a pic & we'll see what's happening; we may be able to suggest another way...
Of course you can... with the correct tools...
At the very least, you need a hammer, a punch & a master link; if you prefer to go pro, spend the big bucks on a chainbreaker...
I'll post some pics soon. I'm going to work on the throttle more. Its fun to mess with so i'm ok fulling around with it.
I'll mess with the chain this weekend. I got the clutch all setup correctly with a washer behind it. Seems good.

I didn't see any bends on the rims on the back tires so i think i'm just going to order the Tires and not the wheels. This should reduce the cost in half. I have some local stores around here that i can visit and i believe they run around 25 bucks a tire. Not bad. Although i don't think i want to replace the tires till later after he breaks it in for a bit.

I also just bought a HF chain breaker...NEVER AGAIN.
It's awful and doesn't work very well at all. I think the peg that pushes out the link is to big... I don't know I gave up for the night. It's the last piece of the puzzle to get my go kart working, but I lost my patience and said it's dark out, so I can't ride it now anyways...might as well wait until the morning.
You think i would stop buying things at HF now, but NOPE.

I definitely agree..... Bought a 90* fixture clamp to build a kart, a few years back. I made ONE perfect 90* joint...... The rest where off by 5-15*...

lol. So instead of taking a link out of the chain i added 4 washers to the motor plate. Hooked everything back up and the chain seemed good. Not too tight but not loose.
I also hooked up the throttle cable correctly this time. I didn't even have to add any return springs.
Started it up. And Success! I have working Kart. My son got to try it out at 11pm last night. He was very happy.
So for now he is going to drive it around.
Next fixes are new tires and a new Paint Job. I don't think i've put too much into so far.
Go kart - 125.00
Engine - 85.00
Clutch - 25
Throttle Cable -15
Total = 250.00 for a working Go-Kart.

So do you guys know where i can get parts for this Manco? I wanted to look at replacing the front right and left spindles on it.
I found these and i think they are the same as the one's i need. They just changed the part number.
