Just the other day I saw a Jr Dragster just like yours at a neighbors house two doors down from ours. I didn't get a good look at it as I was on my way out....hmmm you're not stalking me, are you Jr? :roflol:

Yes Sayre the tubes are coming from the valve cover then the oil and water junk goes in my weight bar/puke tank. And kibbs after looking at the member map I got a little carried away with your pin and....Just kidding. Would you mind getting some pictures for me of it if you see it again?

Well a little update. So I ordered my rear axle components from MFG Supply and i got what i ordered, well almost. My 53T Split Gear wasnt in the package. Im a little upset, I think im going to send them a nasty gram in a few seconds. Well what did come in. Bearings, axle, bearing flanges, and a 1" Uni-Hub.

PROBLEM #1 so far, the bearing flanges DO NOT FIT on my chassis, i probrably should of measured before i ordered but they only come in one size anyways from MFG supply. Well, looks like i have to make some adapter plates and raise the bearing in order to make an adapter. Easy.

Problem solved, I have a large amount of these little aluminum Plate strips laying around that i got from work. Perfect, so i measured out how far i wanted to move the bearing up and made this adapter bracket for the bearing holder. there will be 3 total for each hole in the holder to attach to the chassis.

Ibnzmonkey, I was looking at that filter you're using and it looks like it's just pressure fitted into that carb. Is that so?

Yes its press fit into the carb opening, its not going anywhere, its really snug.

I don't think you would need a catch tank for a regular kart. mabey if you had some sort of high output setup where the track requires you to have one.

ANYWAYS, update. I fixed my Bearing problem a few minutes ago. The flanges i made are still in "beta" form and i need to trim them up to fit perfect still but you can get the idea from my picture. Also i figured out this would change the tire diameter requirement for good ground clearance from 10" to 13"-15" with a 13" i get about 2" from the bottom of the frame to the ground.

Dude, you use my statement about the Budweiser as your sig and I don't even get credit for it? :toetap05:

:roflol: :roflol:

Jr. I'll try to get a pic, but I haven't seen it lately.

Sigh... ok.. LOL I just don't want what happened recently to happen again; one of my friends and I make some prank calls and recorded them about 5-6 years ago. Recently, someone on the internet got a hold of one and posted it up on his site as his own saying that HE recorded them! We were ummmm no! I still have the original recordings.

I know, i finished them up a few minutes ago and tightened the crap out of them. I installed the axle and gave it a wiggle....didnt hold up too well. darn.

Fabricate new mounts, or go to a racing cart supply site and order the correct bearings/hangers(email with measurements to be sure).

OK, so idk wtf i was thinking using those sheet aluminum "mounts". i did some stress testing simulations on my good ol autocad and they would of given out pretty easily....darn, im dumb.

Well, not dumb enough to think of an even better solution. After staring at the hangars and the bearings for a while i was like hey, i got an even better sturdier idea. I drilled out 2 1/4 holes at the top of each hanger and the bearing flange fit perfectly in there AND gave me the tire diameter requirement i wanted. Pics.

right now the whole axle assembly is just loosely bolted in place, nothing is torqued down yet. This should prove MUCH sturdier then that aluminum sheet garbage.

SO ,in order to Sum everything up so far this is what i have gotten accomplished.

note: the engine isnt mounted in its final place, it will be moved to the right a few inches for the PTO to clear the seat mounting area and for the clutch to fit. The clutch will align to the Uni-hub on the rear axle.

:iagree:, you better off flipping them upside down and making a set of small steel plates to connect the other hole to the frame. Think of the force on that thing when a 100mph go cart/rider that weighs 300lbs+ hits it sideways (drifting or sideways stop). Speed exaggerated for safety margin, think of what could happen if it throws a chain because of axle wobble, probably cut open a fuel line.

It really seems to me like you're aiming more for the "pain" part of the thread title.
