iv taken apart quite a few motors with no gasket of any kind there

Im not ignoring you post sorry i kanda forgot, its definatly not binded i swapped the carb and tank and got her runnin! Runs very very good! Only problem is i have to adjust my motor mounts so it dont throw the chain =P

Hey i was puttin my valves back in and it has one of them split retainer things with the collar that goes over it and i got one in and the other one fell out the little metal slanted peice right it works i was wondering if it would be ok to run it without one of them wedges.

i can in a few minuets its holding well it goes back and everything lol. its just one of them is pit of the two will it be fine?

Hmm i had one of these in my 8hp engine. You need em both underloadit will fail and that would causes disaster

**** it i dont feel like compressing the mother ****ing thing again lol it looks fine. what the worse that happens the exhaust valve floats around and i lose compression in that cylinder.

well the worse it could do is spring and valve come apart valve pops out of its seat and hits the head snaps and then ****s ur motor

if it hits the head it would just bounc back its a flat head. lol i really dont feel like ****ing putting that thing in there lol can i jb weld it? rofl. jk

haha i would go back and fix it, it would be like insurance.How many horse power is this engine btw?

20 hp opposed full pressure lubed. ill just go back and try it tomorrow

good idea. Sounds like those are some tough valve springs

yeah there like 18 lb i think or something like that STOCK ill put one on a scale and push down see how much it takes.

So your saying its holding with only one of the split keepers? I dont see how this would hold even from spring seat pressure.

Like i said he should go back and put the other one back in lol

yeah i took them back out and now the spring is re compressed and i just got back from a freinds restoring a old cub cadet.

ok well my dads getting a spring compressor cause i got pissed and kicked a tire acrrost the garage because the ****in thing went off on my finger.
