2 flat head screw drivers, piece of cake. As long as u dont have performance springs then ur fine, the stock ones are hell easy to get in with screw drivers.

You used liquid sealent alone on the side cover? If so hows the crank endplay?

Dude another way of puttin valves in which my freind nate taught me. use vise grips to compress the springs and then zip tie each end of it and make sure its tight put it in put the retainers in and snip the zip ties.

Ok ill thank him for you lol. this is the same kid who told me use a hose clamp to put pistons in rofl.

I tried zip ties b4 haha but fear thay would snap while i put my retainers in lol. I use a tomato can and a hose clamp for my piston and rings lol. I used silicone on the engine then the torn old gasket then silicone on the side cover. The crank has no play and is solid.

The crank has no play and is solid.

Thats's not a good thing. That means your crank is binding up at both bearing surfaces on the PTO side and flywheel side. You want .010" endplay.

Not really necessary. Any quality semi-gloss enamel will be fine as long as surface is properly prepared.

well it looks great its rated for high heat, it makes a excellent finish and doesnt run so im happy.
