got a little bit of work done today , had to build new body mounts for the rear that were a couple inches taller to clear the new rear shocks, but it raised the rear of the body enough so i can now fit the gas tank above the battery . i also had to cut a small hole in the vette body for the fill tube for the tank but it won't look too bad i might even put a hinge on it like a fuel door on a real car. heres some of the pics.

some better pics of the new rear shocks

This thing is awesome man!

Question though

What engine are you planning to use, and how hard is it to steer? :roflol:

after i shake it down a few times it will all come apart and be painted all fancy and ill fill that gap in the body (will be my first time workin with fiberglass).

the engine is already in it opposed 2 cyl briggs. 18 hp 30 ft lbs, if need be i can have it built by a local guy . not sure on steering yet i still need to make the trac bars before i can try the steering out

ok so i got the trac bars made today and recentered the steering draglink , the steering takes a little effort but not nearly as much as you would think. one of the front tires doesn't have any air in it either so that doesn't help. heres some pics

front trac bar installed

flexed it a little to see what she'd do , if there was a rider in there it would go more , the rear springs had more to go but the fronts were bottomed out.

rear trac bar installed

as it sits now , all it needs to take it for a test run is the clutch and chain , and lots of misc nuts and bolts to be put on.

haha !! yea i didn't really think about it thats just what i use to test out the suspension on my trucks when i tinker with them . the floor jack woulda worked with a block on it but that just takes too much time and forklifts are just fun to drive:cornut:

Wow! What the he// possesses you because it's crazily awesome. Is that the steering from a riding mower? Again, what type of clutch are you putting on this thing?

were r u going to drive this "BEAST" lol

wherever i want, who's gonna stop me !?:auto:. really though there are some really cool trails about a half a block from my house that my mudtruck had a hard time gettin through when it was on 44's . lots of creeks, deep mud , some really sick hills, and i can float it in the mississippi if i wanted to theres a small channel that runs into the wood so its only about 4 ft deep and the current isn't strong at all. should be a good time

i just get a lot of dumb ideas in my head about making every vehicle possible into 4x4 . sometimes the ideas get some follow through and turn out cool . yep that is riding mower steering , seems to work well but i might upgrade to something better in the near future but it gets me rollin and drivin for now . gonna put a centrifigal clutch on it and see how that works out if it burns it up ill probly install a clutch pedal and make a clutch setup that will hold up.

got the exhaust mostly ran today ( sounds like a old harley ). took me a couple hours of test fitting and bending to get it just where i liked it but here the pic.

i think im gonna run them up to the back of the front fender and turn them out like sidepipes, also thought about makin zoomies out the front of the hood (thats what i do with all my non-streetable trucks) like most mud trucks are . kinda undecided for right now though. with the governor off the engine it really winds up though , just havin a little trouble with the idle . it has to idle kinda high or it will bog down and die out, my guess is its still getting too much air and not enough fuel?? ive had to restrict the airflow into the carb quite a bit so far
